eleanor’s newly created instagram

born in 1991, eleanor has always tiptoed the line of being techno savy and not... more often leaning into the not. she tries her best, really, is usually comfortable with a computer, but anything that would be considered trendy with the kids would then be lost on her. it’s why so many of her patients entertain themselves by teaching her recent hip terms. instagram, though, she has been aware of for a long time. she just never saw the appeal, much like the majority of those apps. might as well leave something to the kids; it simply wasn’t for her. then one day, mid-session with her patient, jaemin moon, he mentioned the app, asked for her “at”, he called it. he was left speechless and yet, not very surprised to learn eleanor didn’t have instagram or know a single thing about it.

hilarity ensued as they then sat together and proceeded to make eleanor her own profile, jaemin’s appointment long forgotten. her main goal in indulging the young boy was to bring a smile to his face, much like she’d do with any of her patients, and not necessarily making and even using an instagram account. but as she went home that night, with a moon stamp approval on her profile (as he’d called it), she grew increasingly curious of that brand new world. she spent the entire night scrolling, finding page after page after page. recipes, spirituality, lots and lots of animals, eleanor wondered why she hadn’t downloaded the app much sooner !! when they saw each other next, she questioned him further about the app, how she should start her profile and such. you could say jaemin was her instagram mentor. he even edited her first ever post for her, then showed her how to achieve the light gray and coral pastel look she’d been yearning for.
