thinking about when i was an egg middle schooler or whatever and how i had never really wanted to look like a guy and wasnt that into guys in concept. until i started paying attention to and appreciating chubby/fat guys and guys who were like. more diverse and typical than the supposedly sexy gc cishet white men actors who all kind of looked the same to me.

something very compelling about depictions of insecure men who posture and stubbornly present themselves as overly masculine while secretly wanting to express themselves in more stereotypically feminine ways. annoying dude with complexes gets stuck in a dress or lingerie or whatever and acts annoyed and embarrassed about it because he doesnt want to admit he enjoys it. if someone called him pretty, he’d fluster, but he’s not thinking about it. denial isnt a crucial aspect, but theres something about the repression that makes it particularly interesting to me.
