I think the best idea for a fic would be creating a new character/family or doing an adopted hopper reader bc that makes sense ๐ค idk abt the other adopted into x family options but hopper seems like it would make sense
Adoptee hopper is a big eh for me bc yes that man is great and I love him but realistically he has issues and wouldn't go out of his way to look for a kid :( Maybe if reader came from a bad family and had nowhere else to go to while the police sorts things out for themโ that I can see! Flo sticking them with Hopper and them having to build their relationship from the ground up.
Or, or and hear me out hereโ adopted Harrington reader because Steve's parents saw he wasn't gonna be the star child they wanted him to be (despite putting NO effect into raising him) and adopt a kid to 'start over' with. That kid just happens to be good everything Steve isn't. It'd be nice to see that get build up, going from:
"they're adopted."
To
"get away from my sibling, asshole!"
