It was inspired by another note I scribbled down some months ago...

I’ve been rewatching some of the MCU movies as ENDGAME approaches. I have some questions about Infinity Stones and how they work. I am not sure if these questions have answers--since various stones seem to act differently. But maybe some nerds already figured this out, so I ask tumblr dot com.

1. There has been some suggestion that the someone has to use the Infinity Gauntlet to undo the Snap. Does it have to be one single individual? Because, obviously, a big part of the end of Guardians of the Galaxy is that a group can work in concert to wield a stone. Could all of the Avengers somehow all do it? Or does the Gauntlet itself require a wearer, in that someone has to put their hand in it?

2. Ebony Maw says in Infinity War that no one has ever wielded two Infinity Stones. Is he just blowing smoke up Thanos’ ass? Because a case could be made that Loki wielded two in Avengers. (He had the Tesseract and the Mind stone.) Or does the fact that the Space Stone was in the Tesseract and the Mind Stone was in the Scepter mean that he didn’t fully “wield” them?

3. The Tesseract seems to be unique (ish?) in that some people can’t touch it’s holding case, like Red Skull when he is swept away. (Though he had definitely held it before.) Does the fact that Carol could pretty much play hacky sack with it in Captain Marvel, mean she could wield the Space Stone? Because it would be super convenient for her to be able to pop around the universe instead of waiting years for her to return.

4. Why can everyone touch the Orb but being able to touch the Tesseract seems cool in Captain Marvel?

5. Does the fact that Rocket, with the Guardians, was able to hold one Infinity Stone mean he could hold, like, 1/4th of another?

6. Guardians 1 & 2 imply that a mortal, that is someone with no powers, cannot hold the Infinity Stone, that Peter Quill could not have done it without having Ego as a father. Does that mean a mortal (like, say, Hawkeye or Black Widow) who doesn’t have powers definitely could not hold an Infinity Stone, or are there special mortals who are powerful in their own way? Could Dr. Strange have held and used the Time Stone before he learned magic? If no, then could they hold like 1/4th the way Rocket did? (That is the say, to touch someone who is touching an Infinity Stone in a support role, not to necessarily wield it.)

7. Does the fact that Natasha touched the Scepter and used it to “harm” the Tesseract mean anything? Or is it like the Orb and anyone can touch it? Does it make a difference that she wielded it against another Infinity Stone?

8. The Soul Stone, why such a little asshole? Huh? Does everyone who uses it HAVE to throw their daughter off a cliff? Or make a “sacrifice” to it? Or is that over now that it is out of Vormir? Because I would be sad if Ant-Man had to do that to Cassie.

9. My Math. I *think* that Thor could wield two stones if we conclude Loki did have two. Since Carol already has energy from the Space Stone inside of her, I think she could use that one. That’s three-ish. If we think Natasha could have used the Mind Stone, that is fourish. I don’t know wtf is going on with the Reality Stone now that it is not Aether. But none of this solves the problem of the Soul Stone, that little asshole.
