"We say her name--Sandra Bland--as an alarm from our souls to combat the indecency of injustice." With learning about the non-indictment in regards of the death of Sandra Bland, I cannot articulate much of how I feel. I feel enraged. I feel the heaviness and weight from the disregard for black bodies and lives. I feel the lingering aroma of Texas's stench of white supremacy. I feel death is the price paid for refusing to stay in one's place. I feel the threat against her body--"I will light you up!"--followed by the infractions upon her body (as she was dragged from her car) is enough to suggest cause for murder. I feel her energy, her fight was not so easily subdued to self-depletion.
