just living in the phone, not a moment in sight
phone cases, hats, stickers, bags, magnets, & pins by @katacala
Yeah, as a matter of fact, I do realize I am doing this from a phone.

some phobias i suffer from:
entomophobia (fear of insects, for me it's nearly paralyzing and can send me into a panic attack very quickly)
thalassophobia (fear of deep, dark bodies of water, and specifically water that i can't see through to the bottom of)
arachnophobia (fear of arachnids, although tarantulas are okay for me to look at pictures/videos of. any other arachnid makes me sick to see, and seeing any arachnid in real life is a big no)
basophobia (fear of falling. i'm not acrophobic, heights are okay, but it's falling that scares me)
catoptrophobia (fear of mirrors, and for me specifically, fear of reflections. looking at reflections in mirrors makes me extremely uneasy and paranoid)
trypophobia (fear of clusters of holes. i get extremely nauseous even looking at them)
claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces. more specifically cleithrophobia, which is the fear of getting trapped in an enclosed space, being unable to move, the ceiling collapsing on you, etc)
nomophobia (fear of being without a phone, cell contact, etc. my specific fear is not being connected to the internet, which has been informally coined abinterretephobia, but it's not official yet)
bathophobia (fear of depths. for me, it's tunnels and deep caves that give me extreme anxiety, and being deep underwater)
azathagoraphobia (fear of being forgotten, replaced, or ignored. this is a common thing for me to get nearly debilitating anxiety or depressive spirals from)
androphobia (fear of men, and for me specifically, masculine adult men. i get extreme anxiety and tend to remove myself from the encounter as soon as possible, and constantly feel like i am in danger although there is no specific indicators of any danger)
NOMOPHOBIA noun. 1. Fear of being away from a mobile phone. @eyestrip
When I first met Don DeLillo, he was making the case that if we ever stop having fiction writers it will mean we’ve given up on the concept of the individual person. We will only be a crowd. And so it seems to me that the writer’s responsibility nowadays is very basic: to continue to try to be a person, not merely a member of a crowd. (Of course, the place where the crowd is forming now is largely electronic.) This is a primary assignment for anyone setting up to be and remain a writer now. So even as I spend half my day on the Internet—doing email, buying plane tickets, ordering stuff online, looking at bird pictures, all of it—I personally need to be careful to restrict my access. I need to make sure I still have a private self. Because the private self is where my writing comes from. The more I’m pulled out of that, the more I simply become another loudspeaker for what already exists. As a writer, I’m trying to pay attention to the stuff the people aren’t paying attention to.
