I don't know too much about the whole davekat situation but I'm sure they did more than just hang out in their house? They did get out with jade. Also didn't all the kids essentially isolate themselves? I don't think rosemary really left the house either...

whereas i feel like with rose and kanaya it was kind of acknowledged a little bit and like. idk epilogues and homestuck2 is garbage but they still managed to paint that relationship as more complex and balanced i guess than just exacerbating this shit of dave and karkat and oh man they’re so sweet without touching on hey they kind of just holed off and it sounds like the only contact they get is from jade bugging them bc she wants company and their attention and all that weird junk that happened whatever the main thing is i don’t like how it isn’t challenged in how it’s written at all it’s just one dimension of something and it lends itself to feel uneasy. does that make sense?
