materializing as you ring your bell. SAM JAMS. i've spoken to you about this briefly before but i positively adore how you've made kaeya all your own! there are many ways to approach giving a canon character an au in another universe, but seldom did i ever think i'd see an execution of it as wonderfully imaginative and creative as you have with kaeya here. the thought of using a canon character as a virtual avatar in a sci-fi universe is absolutely brilliant! you've poured so much time and passion into building kaeya, the entity, and how in what ways he's similar to kaeya alberich and in what ways he's completely different, contrasting all given expectations. while i'm not familiar with genshin lore, from what i remember of kaeya was that he was always more than he seemed -- and i think to myself how wittily you've portrayed that in an entirely different, yet still narratively genius way that ties into that so well. i adore kaeya and how different he is, how he's grown up as a menetic entity and the sheer amount of passion you've put into exploring the depths of enigmata and crafting this elusive story around kaeya. i love him so much, i want to write with him all the more!! slowly learning more of him through the few threads we've had and reading your hc posts has been an utter delight: you touch upon so many aspects of him that he feels like his own person, rather than the likeness he took on.

his head is pounding; each heartbeat akin to the swing of a hammer against his temples — shaking the halovian's train of thought from his unsteady grip. he squeezes his eyes shut, attempting to banish the fever boiling beneath his skin through willpower alone. ( no no, eden cannot afford to waste time on this. ) ❝ ... do you mind repeating that? ❞
he supposes he shouldn't be surprised that sunday, head of the oak family, knows about that little detail that he doesn't really show that often, if at all. but it does put him a little bit on edge, to know that someone so dangerously powerful in their word choice & deliberate movements in politics of penacony would be interested in what he had to say about him. ( lex would have to be careful. )
"... You sound..." oh, how would he describe this? "You sound like breathing." it was the easiest way to explain it, but he knows it must sound odd. "Pardon, I should explain. You sound the way someone does after running for hours, with barely a break for water, but still well in shape. Exhausted, running on fumes, but proud of themselves. The slightly deeper breaths of someone who knows they keep pushing themselves to their limit, but is proud of themselves for finding where they can push, and push."
he shakes his head. "I would be concerned for you, but it doesn't sound as if you mind, judging by how quiet you are even in that terrible loudness of mind."
“ Mr. Sunday! The tournament was truly most exciting. There's nothing better than combining the art of combact with a good time to entice the soul. At the risk of overstepping, may I ask if, in the future, was the idea to host another considered...? ”
send 👀 if our muses have never interacted before (or have!) and I will write up 3-5 headcanons for their relationship!
The first meeting was a little tense. Sunday boards the Astral Express as a passenger while Harmony is part of the crew as one of the Nameless. Harmony is pretty shy and at first, she is wary with how he carries himself. Of course, she would be polite with him despite being a little put off by how he seems holier than thou while he must adjust to the dramatic changes in his life. This is the beginning of learning that Sunday is not all that he seems and deep down, he is human who is starting on a new journey to find himself.
2. The coldness between them doesn't last long. While on the Astral Express, there is time to cross paths and start to get to know each other. They find that they both love music and adore sweets. This becomes the first bit of common ground that the two bond on.
3. Though she doesn't remember much about her past, Harmony knows she can play guitar and sing. She has to adjust to playing with the loss of sensation in her fingers due to her cybernetics, but she got the hang of it again with some encouragement from others. Sunday and his immaculate talents on the piano is a big influence in her taking up the guitar again.
This leads to spending time listening to each other play, even playing together through those quiet hours during their travels.
4. Both love desserts and Sunday leads to Harmony learning about the vast variety of pastries that she never knew existed before. One of Harmony's talents is also baking and she would be interested in learning how to bake egg based sweets like puddings and custards. She does well in this skill and would invite Sunday to tase test these creations. Creme brulee and Chocolate pudding tarts topped with fresh berries are some of her favorite creations.
5. Harmony loves how Sunday's hair looks. Harmony is also quite prideful of her own hair which is based on her culture. Hair is seen as "medicine," which refers to spiritual power or the power of the connection of identity and culture, which has its own healing power.
This is a big stretch, but if there's enough trust, they may get into sharing tricks on how they tend to their hair. It could escalate to brushing and styling each other's hair. Among Harmony's people, working on each other's hair by brushing, braiding, etc are done as showing trust and care. It is also an act of healing by bonding with others and reconnecting with heritage. It gives the opportunity to share stories while boosting each other's confidence.

NICKEY!!! i'm glad you rb'd this again so i could launch myself in here. we've only begun to interact but i'm looking forward to seeing more of your portrayals! thus far i've mostly seen your aventurine and your reca, who have so much pizzazz and personality punched into them. i remember reading your reply to my one liner on sunday and laughing in delight at aventurine's cattiness, and then his tactical advance with his gamble of questions: i feel that balancing the two can be a precarious thing, and from what i've witnessed thus far, you've done a great job at not muzzling his quips but also pulling some of his tactician's mindset from within. as for reca, i've enjoyed seeing your take on him from someone who studies his field of expertise; i feel that it colors your portrayal through a unique lens, and you've done a wonderful job of capturing his erratic, passionate energy thus far! your dialogue is top notch and always lovely to read and bounce off of, and so can the same be said of you as a mun! it's been lovely chatting and getting to know one another :] i'm looking forward to seeing more of your muses and interpretations and threading together! i've got some responses tucked away for you. here's to tormenting a blue bird in particular together!
anonymously tell me favourite parts of my portrayals
sdbgjndsjg you're welcome!! but no legit, i am so glad you enjoy these two since they're some of my favourites to write as a whole. they're unique to other muses and i'm just monching on how to write them more. we'll torment the blue bird for a long time because it's our job to, but we love doing it willingly.
The air filled with the artificial sweetness of candy floss and golden bubbles of champagne was lightand mellow in the early, eternal evening of the ballroom. Dignitaries and luminaries and intellectuals and celebrities were so commonplace within Penacony that this was the crowd, the rabble, the Dreamchasers who pursued dreams easily attained in their obscene wealth and fortunes. The darkness of poverty and upset of misfortune wasn't allowed to exist, or was simply expunged. Faces and dresses and suits swirled like flotsam upon the sea, twirling in the rosy gold atmosphere and dancing in a bottle of champagne.
Among them was the Ugly Duckling.
The duckling raised in darkness, shunned from the light, and toiled to become a perfect heir, a perfect successor; vessel, heir, empty chalice filled with sloshing, bloody wine. That had been long ago, hadn't it? He was a swan now, in a seat of power, straight-backed and... confident(?). Yet, Clear saw the downy baby feathers yet to be plucked from his plumage, dots of sooty darkness he didn't notice or couldn't remove.
A detached, godly soul raised in shame and sanctuary.
"You look lonely," Clear greeted suavely as he extended a hand to the Halovian, a crow that dared to infringe so closely to the dove. "Shall we dance?"
runs in here!! >8)

besides the piano and violin, are there any instruments sunday would consider taking up? conversely, are there any instruments or types of music he dislikes?
i don't think there's any specific instrument that sunday is especially interested in learning — though that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't open to the idea. i feel if the opportunity to pick up another instrument presented itself, he would probably accept it regardless of what it actually is. it's more the process of learning that he finds inherently fascinating. he likes the technical aspect. figuring out what key or movement produces which sound and how to weave them into melody — and in that regard, he excels much faster than he really gives himself credit for. it usually doesn't take sunday very long at all to pick up most instruments with a middling degree of competence; he just holds himself to such ludicrously high standards that he doesn't see it as a skill worthy of praising. he's very perfection or bust in regards to his own work; he can be more charitable towards other people and tends to recognize their efforts more easily than his own — though i think in general, that's a curse shared by all creatives to varying degrees.
that being said, i do feel the instruments and music of the various planets he visits over the course of his journey will be of great interest to him. ( and probably one of the easiest ways to coax him into embracing the unknown overall. )
in terms of dislikes, sunday generally tries to keep a very open mind and find things to appreciate in every piece he listens to. even if the song itself isn't personally to his tastes, there's usually an inherent artistry to the construction of the music. the delicate coordination of various instruments and sounds. the organized and purposeful way in which they're layered together to create a proper melody. the poetic nature of the lyrics. even the overall vibe of the piece — what kind of emotions it means to convey, the story it's trying to tell. he has this habit where he likes to put on a song and stand there with his eyes closed while listening VERY carefully — literally dissecting it piece by piece. sunday is someone with such a deep love of and intimate connection to music that he's usually able to find beauty and meaning in something that isn't necessarily to his liking. ( though make no mistake, that doesn't mean he's above criticizing it. ) i think the only kind of song he would truly hate is one that's thoughtlessly thrown together. something uncomfortable to listen to, something nonsensical and grating. if the vibes are terrible, it actually makes him feel physically ill.
favorite tea for your tea video inquiries?
sweet and summery fruity teas! strawberry — to the surprise of absolutely no one. though i think blueberry tea would come as a close second. sunday isn't too fond of very citrus-heavy teas; anything overly lemony tastes a little too much like soap, though he'll quietly stomach a cup out of politeness if necessary.
he also likes teas with that sort of warm-spice flavor profile you'll typically find in chai blends. i think it's a comfort drink; something he can faintly recall his mother enjoying when he was very small — and now he associates cinnamon, clove and cardamom with her.
what was sunday's journey with his gender like?
bear with me because we're delving a little bit into "avalon brainrot worldbuilding" territory with this one. i feel like halovians tend to have a very fluid ( literally and metaphorically ) stance on gender overall. their innate connection to the harmony lends itself to a culture that both encourages and normalizes its people experimenting with gender expression and discovery of the self. every halovian has their own song, after all. in sunday's personal experience, he was afab — though he understood fairly early on that he definitely wasn't cis and spent much of his youth gradually feeling out the specifics. for a number of years, he identified as a trans man — but eventually came to realize that didn't seem quite right, either. he's nonbinary; he just feels most comfortable being referred to with more masculine terms of address ( brother, mr. sunday and so on ) and tends to veer towards masculine forms of gender expression. not always, though — and he really doesn't mind whatever pronouns are used for him, either.
how would sunday dress off the clock?
i think that depends on the context. sunday strikes me as the type of person to have twenty identical pairs of the same dress shirt and pants to wear while he's at home so he doesn't need to agonize and obsess over coordinating an outfit. ( as we all know he will do. ) on the rare occasions he finds himself out and about without any work-related obligations to attend to, i think his fashion sense tends to veer in a tasteful, semi-light academia sort of direction. ( forgive me, i don't know much about clothing styles. ) soft colors. a little vintage. delicate embroidery. a step down from the rigid formality of his usual attire, but still maintaining an air of dignity. he genuinely does like nice clothes ( and jewelry, he has a particular fondness for rings ) and feels good in them — but it's also very much about appearing presentable, even when he's technically "off the clock." he puts a lot of care and consideration into his outfit. regardless of the circumstances, you're never going to find sunday without a pair of gloves on.
example. / example. / example. / example.
he also likes two piece pajama sets — the kind made out of silk and other very soft materials. in general, sunday really can't stand fabrics that have a scratchy or wiry texture and will try to avoid touching them altogether if he can help it.
what were sunday's first few years without robin like?
sunday is the sort of person who derives great comfort from routine — and it's shown that those more "orderly" inclinations have always existed within him to a degree, even before gopher wood began to manipulate him in earnest. ( order being assimilated by harmony and sunday being a halovian steeped in ena iconography is another subject i really want to delve into at some point. ) i think in the years directly following robin's departure, he clung to the monotony and predictability of a strict daily routine as a sort of coping mechanism — effectively placing himself in a perfectly controlled environment where there were no surprises, no deviations. a beta version of the infamous cage, so to speak. unsurprisingly, this had the side effect of pushing him even further into the order's embrace.
personality-wise, he did put forth an effort to maintain a relatively positive exterior. sunday definitely strikes me as the sort of child who had to grow up too quickly and accumulated a lot of emotional intelligence well beyond his years. hyper-empathy at the expense of the self. he's always been tenderhearted, and being separated from robin felt equivalent to losing a limb. at the same time, he was still a kid and still occasionally did silly kid things — at least in part because he had just enough awareness to believe that his grief and loneliness would be a burden on others and sought to bury it beneath a facade. ( the first of many. ) the charmony dove's passing was one of the rare instances when he couldn't stop himself from breaking down completely — though that entire ordeal was deeply traumatizing for a number of reasons.
as he grew older and his burdens grew heavier, he discarded the cheerful exterior and grew attached to his new mask of propriety instead. much like keeping to a predictable daily routine, sunday uses rules as a sort of coping mechanism. even if those rules are simply what he's been taught of proper decorum — he doesn't need to worry about how to act in any given situation if he already has "instructions" to follow. conversely, this is also why deviating from them ( and "frivolous people" who irreverently do whatever they want ) brings him so much anxiety.
what do you believe would have been different if robin never left?
in the grand scheme of it all? tragically little.
sunday's loneliness made him particularly susceptible to gopher wood's manipulations and robin's near death experience was ultimately the weapon used to insidiously shatter his faith in the harmony altogether. however, i think the charmony siblings' fates were actually sealed the moment they came into gopher wood's care. "you and your sister were born as twins of the order, and one of you is destined to follow this path to the end." keeping them together is only one half of the metaphorical puzzle needed to save sunday from the role he was groomed to play. he needs to get out of penacony. he needs to be kept away from gopher wood and those similarly entangled by the order, because the siblings were always intended to be used as pawns in a greater scheme — and we all know sunday would never allow robin to be the one to make the sacrifice.
on the other hand, i think if he was allowed to leave alongside robin, things definitely would have turned out wildly different ...
