Before you ask, no there are no drugs in this story. It happened after the celebration of my mom and stepdad’s marriage. Yes, my parents are divorced and happily married. I was at least 14 years old at the time. While my stepdad was talking to his friends, me and my mom got into my stepdad’s car and waited. Then my thirst began to rise. “Mom, can I have something to drink?” Mom says, “All there is in here is a drink from McDonald’s.” “Can I have it?” I asked. “I don’t know sweetie. There might be tea in it and you don’t like tea.” Mom said. “I don’t care. I’m thirsty as heck.” So mom gave me the cup and I drank some of it. “Well it’s not tea.” I drank some more. “Kind of minty.” Mom turned to look at me wide-eyed. “Honey, you might not want to drink anymore.” I was processing at what was happening and what I was drinking. ‘Oh my gosh’. I gave Mom the drink and she put it back in the cup holder. My stepdad got into the car and my mom told him what happened. “Oh my gosh, did you drink that?” Apparently, my stepdad went to McDonald’s to eat breakfast. While he was in his vehicle, he was eating his breakfast and after he finished, he brushed his teeth and spit in his half empty cup. Word of advice: Don’t drink any of your dad’s or stepdad’s drink that is in a vehicle.
