Hey everyone,

Back when I had time a couple years ago to interact with my followers more regularly (I had more time on my hands and there were fewer of you), one of my followers, nocakeforyousid--who is cool and from Germany, asked if I could post a link to a survey she was conducting for her coursework.

Those of you who were following me two years ago were tremendously helpful in getting her survey responses, and she would love your help again.

Last night you cried?  Friday night. Long car journey to Berlin, which happened without much planning, so I just put all music in my generic “night” playlist on my car stereo. This included things like “Traveling Soldier” by the Dixie Chicks, but also all the saddest Buffy songs, e.g. “Goodbye to You” (Michelle Branch), “It doesn’t matter” (Alison Kraus + Union Station), “Full of Grace” (Sarah McLachlan). Combine this with a tiny bit of being tired, and I dare you not to cry there.

what were you doing at midnight last night? Started to read the first “Dresden Files” book. So far I do not see what all the fuzz is about. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but I know plenty of detective noir books, with or without magic, that are even better.

name something you cant wait for? Why are you putting a question mark at the end of an imperative phrase. That just looks wrong? Anyway, I’m a patient guy. Apart from some buerocratic things related to my job, I’m waiting for 3D printers to become cheaper and better so I can buy one.

1. What do you need on your breakfast table to start the day? Nutella. Also some sort of bread product to put the Nutella on - when I buy it for myself it usually ends up being sliced bread because I’m really lazy. The Nutella is the important part, though.

3. 5 things you would do today if the world ended tomorrow: That depends heavily on whether I’m the only one who knows the world is ending or not. If everyone knows, I’d probably try to hide from the desperate masses with nothing to lose. On the other hand, if I’m the only desperate mass with nothing to lose? Hm, I once read a book on safe-cracking, and while I don’t remember everything, it might be fun to try that. There’s also something to be said for stealing an excavator from the nearest construction site and building the world’s biggest sand castle. Finally I’d try some things too depraved to mention here (that, and I haven’t thought of what they are yet).

4. What’s your spirit animal? Probably some sort of cat, because cats hate all humans and think they’re way smarter than they actually are. Also, I think I may have made that joke before, but I’m currently too tired to go and check.

1. If you are not a hockey blog, what made you follow me?

You are a hockey blog?! o.o

2. Which book would you like to throw into the author’s face and why?

Haven't read that many books lately. Probably the Opus Anima book from Felix Mertikat and Tim Bröstl to remind them, that they have to write more of those as they promised in the book and never did. And because it's a large and heavy book and it'll most certainly hurt. Perfect reminder.

3. If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?

There so many tasty things out there, but if I have to chose I'd go for Ramen. Can eat that every day without growing tired of it. Well... perhaps a bit...

4. Tell me one thing about your hometown.

Almost noone I've met thus far pronouced it correctly until after I've told them how. 

6. What is your biggest dream?

Becoming an author. Becoming a doctor is a nice thing, too, but I really want to write stories :)

At first I didn't even realize it was numbered at all...

7. Pick an existing country to be the monarch/president of.

Japan. Haven't been there yet (that'll change this summer), but I really like their view at technology, the overall japanese attitude and the culture.

My grandmother's Himmelstorte. Didn't find the english name, if one exists.

Definitly night in with friends. I don't like clubs.

Oda Eiichirou - mangaka, Steven Erikson - author, Chris Avellone - video game designer, Miyazaki Hayao - film director, SPYAIR - band (I know, I know... but you can't meet just one person of a band...). We'd go in a random but good japanese restaurant and eat Ramen ;)

11. Name something that you really need to get done/want to do this summer. (By naming it you commit to finishing it… this is a binding contract ;) )

Can I name two? Learning to play the violin and write some more. Started with both, but laziness and a lack of inspiration aren't a good constellation to get things done...

A dove because they are a symbol of peace and that's all I want in my life.

Wait for my facial hair to grow?? idk.

Yeah I guess so.

I would laugh and then if they were still serious, I'd tell my crush I love him.

We would probably go ice skating and then go out to dinner and top it off with a movie at home.

7. How would you react if you found out your significant other of many years, had another family living down the street from you that he/she regularly visits?

I would confront the other family about his infidelity and hopefully both sides would leave him and he'd be alone thinking of his wrongdoing. Or maybe the other family and I would team up and torch his most prized possession. 

8. Do you think people are too sensitive today, and that having to be politically correct and careful of what you say is unnecessary and trying?

I definitely think some people are overly sensitive. But I still think it is important to be respectful of everyone's beliefs and values no matter how hilarious the joke may be. I also definitely think that there is a time and place to act a certain way. Like I wouldn't walk into a church and start dropping f bombs. 

9. If possible, would you want to meet an alternate version of yourself?

If the version could possibly be more ugly than me then yes!

Genre: Alternative rock     Decade: 90s i guess.

Harry Potter. I want to go to Hogwarts sooo bad!
