Well, I mean… You did ask, sweet pea. Dumb question; dumb answer? XD [Can we also note how Xena just stands back while Gabrielle, who’s HOLDING A GIANT INFANT, goes to, kneels down beside, and unties Pandora? Then Gabrielle has to carry Pandora’s heavy bag, in addition to the baby. WHY? Then, then, as soon as she rids herself of her burdens, Xena (STILL standing around doing nothing, by the way) makes her sidekick go and get her saddlebag.* Heh Poor GabbyWabbit/pack mule. Ooh! Is competition the real reason Argo disliked Gabrielle at first? XD]

LOL, this guy, now! So easily amazed. Not to mention, REALLY bad at recognizing people. …Is that a theme in this show? I mean, Nemos just met with the infamous warrior princess a few hours prior to her dance, she didn’t even bother changing her hairstyle or way of moving during her performance and then spoke to dude again at length in his bedchamber, and he still had no idea who she was. XD

And this last part is an obvious choice… uuuuntiiiil you get to the LOLzy moment highlighted at the end. How did the visual continuity editor(s) not notice it? (Then again, they’re REALLY bad at their jobs on this show, overall. ’Tis another of its charms. XD)

This warning almost immediately proving itself untrue.

(This elite warrior not only doesn’t go on offense, he puts up no defense. Xena kicks him five times and strikes him with the heel of her hand once, and dude can’t even block a single blow.)

When the sudden landslide caused a giant rock fell onto Hercules, and no one cared even a little bit about his well-being or paid him much mind. XD

Gabrielle rubbing off on Xena at long last. Not that way- Well, actually I have no idea on that second part. *shrug* XD

(No matter the obviousness of the impending answer, GW must always ask her favorite question.)

This half-humorous, half-sad moment that plays into my suspicion about “Maternal Instincts” and “Purity,” etc. 

(Maybe Xena and Gabrielle are so bad at choosing safe places because they’ve never been in one. The idea is too foreign to them. *tear*)

Gabrielle realizing that Iolaus could use some of Agranon’s beloved toothpaste and/or that Xena’s right— kissing men isn’t nearly as fun as the alternative is. Heh Meanwhile, Xena always uses tongue but comes away from her kiss with Hercules sulky, the belief she shared with Gabrielle reaffirmed. X)

Poor Gabrielle is feeling down on herself after being taken advantage of by Aiden in “Paradise Found.” Xena sets her straight.

Xena held Gabrielle close. “You say you’re stupid for following these… guides on your spiritual quest, but the truth is that you’re remarkably brave. You’ve always been brave! No; Gabrielle, listen to me! Your courage has gotten you into some sticky spots, but it’s also saved your life. Countless lives. Including mine.”

The blonde jerked back to look the warrior in the face. “What? Xena, you’re lying! There’s no way that’s true! Most of the time, the only thing I contribute is more work for you. You have to do your original plans alone and then clean up the messes I make of my part, or everything.”

“Gabrielle, that is not true! You’ve been saving me from the beginning. Didn’t you ever wonder what I was doing in that forest when we met?”

She smiled, remembering that day. “No. You, now we, always just kind of appear when people need help, no?”

Xena hummed a sound of merriment. “Perhaps. But before you happened upon me, I was burying my weapons and armor. I intended to get into a fight unarmed and lose. I couldn’t live with the shame of the things I’d done once Hercules set me straight. I thought there was nothing for me to live for. Then there you were.” Fondly, close to adoringly, she reached out yet again to rub her partner’s cheek with her knuckles. “You’re always the answer to the prayers I don’t even know I’m saying. You are,” she finished both resolutely and pleadingly.

Gabrielle blushed even as she smiled. “Thank you, Xena,” she whispered.

This excerpt comes from my story, “Rapprochement,” in which Xena and Gabrielle explicitly hash out The Rift Arc before coming together as a couple at long last. Yes, that’s a lot later than most people put them together, but... I’m special. LOL
