Hi there, thanks for stopping by. There's NO contract prohibiting Sam from talking about his private life. I know this for a fact because 1. That's not how things work in Hollywood nowadays. That was the studio system of 1930's to 1950's. NO studio or film/TV production company can make an actor not talk about his private life. 2. And I, Purv know for a fact that there's no contract because I live in Los Angeles, know lots of people in the industry, and I know people who actually know Sam personally. I repeat, there is no contract. And nothing stopping Sam from talking about his private life publicly.

So, why hasn't he screamed from the rooftops, put out a press announcement that Steph French is his girlfriend, and gone Instagram official with her? Because this is what happened when he did that with his last serious girlfriend, Mackenzie Mauzy. 👇 It is worth a read if you don't know the history. Or a reread if you forgot.

Ironically, when he defended Mackenzie on Instagram it was December 22, 2016. Today is December 22 as well, only almost 10 years later! Same shit, different year. Extreme Shippers and assorted haters have not let up. Granted, there's less of them, but they are still there and they are loud and obnoxious.

So, Sam HAS gone official with Steph, but just more subtly, ie. by taking her to Rik Rankin's wedding, being photographed at the opening of his Galloway Distillery, going with her to the Motorcycle event in Birmingham, going out freely with her in public during the whole run of Macbeth in Stratford, going out freely with her in public in New York during his book tour, and now going out freely in public with her in Glasgow as they get ready to celebrate their first Christmas together.

After the holidays, he may go even more public or "official," but he doesn't have to. He doesn't owe US anything. And yes, many of us would be happy for him. But he knows full well, some would not be happy for him, and that minority would make his and Steph's life hell. He's seen it happen first hand over and over for the last 11 years with EVERY woman he's dated.

Outlander is almost over, he may say "fuck it," and do things differently. Who knows. But just know that there is no contract, no "nonsense," just a man who has found love again and knows that doing more that what he's already doing would NOT make things better, or help people calm down and accept his relationship. It would only, and will only make things WORSE for him and for Steph. So, why would he do that? It caused harm before. No reason to think anything would be different now. The same asshole SamCait shippers are still around and have now recruited new ones. *ahem*

I'm glad you reached out to me. Please don't fall for shipper manipulations and lies. They have SOLD (literally for some i.e. SIS Brazil and others) the SamCait LIE. And yes, they're very convincing. But it's not true and never has been. There has never been a SamCait relationship. This I can guarantee you with 100% certainty. What is real is that Cait and Tony, her husband, have been in love since 2014. Ship that. It's so romantic that that man has endured all the hate he has and has never wavered in his support and love of Cait. Ship that. It's real and it's awesome.

And now, Sam has found his match in Steph and has gained a little step-daughter to dote on in the process. Ship that. It's real and romantic and so sweet.
