Daniel hums softly as he looks down on the tiny baby resting against his chest, bundled up in a blanket. She has managed to wriggle on of her arms out, her tiny fingers trying to grasp onto Daniel‘s thin shirt. He chuckles, running a soft fingertip over her adorably scrunched up nose.

„You‘re a little night-owl, aren‘t you hm?“ he whispers with a smile, rocking her slowly. Sophie opens and closes her mouth, big eyes falling close heavily every few seconds. Daniel purrs softly and his heart feels so incredibly full of love that he doesn‘t know how any of it even stays inside his chest. He wishes he could somehow bottle this moment up and keep it with him forever.

Her dark wisps of hair are soft underneath Daniel‘s palm as he keeps her small head steady. He almost startles when the door to his room opens slowly then, and he turns his head to find a sleepy looking Max peering inside. The omega‘s eyes light up when they fall onto Daniel and the small pup in his arms.

„There you are,“ Max says with a smile despite sounding groggy. He walks over to where Daniel is standing next to the window, not having turned on the lights in the dark room so he could quietly rock Sophie to sleep again. Daniel reaches out an arm towards Max with a concerned frown.

„Max,“ he starts. „You shouldn‘t be out of bed yet-“

Max only gives him brief side-glance as he steps into the embrace Daniel offered him, bracing a hand underneath Daniel‘s to hold his daughter with him. „I think I can manage a few steps down the hallway.“ he says with a teasing tone, but his eyes are soft as he looks at Daniel and then at Sophie, who is watching him intently as he cooes at her.

Daniel sighs, nosing Max‘s hair. „At least let‘s sit down?“

Max, surprisingly enough, nods without any objection and lets Daniel lead him to his bed. He winces a bit as he sits down but doesn‘t give Daniel the time to say anything. „I was wondering where you two went.“ Max says, rubbing his thumb over Sophie‘s tummy.

„Shit, sorry,“ Daniel quickly says when he realizes what the fact that he just took Sophie and went to another room with her in the middle of the night must‘ve looked like to Max. „I wasn‘t trying to take her away or anything, but I wanted to let you rest and she started fussing so I-“

Max‘s chuckle makes him stop and turn his head to look at him. „I know.“ Max softly soothes the alpha. „And i trust you with her, Daniel.“

Daniel rumbles instinctively, which makes Sophie gurgle in excitement and Max laughs quietly, leaning in to press a kiss to her chubby cheek. „You like that, don‘t you princess?“

Daniel is sure that his overwhelming love for Max must be written all over his face when the omega gently rests his chin on Daniel‘s shoulder, letting his arm fall over Daniel’s torso. Daniel blinks the tell-tale burning sensation behind his eyes away and looks down at Sophie again. He still can‘t believe that he is actually holding her, after he has seen her on the blurry scans and felt her kicks through the bump and then even had the honor to be the one to deliver her, but even through all these moments, it has never felt as real to him as now.

„She is so tiny and beautiful.“ Daniel sighs contentedly. „I can‘t believe she‘s finally here.“

Max rubs his cheek against Daniel‘s shoulder. „Me neither,“ he starts, sounding hoarse with emotion and Daniel slings an careful arm around his waist to bring him closer. „When i ran away I thought- I would‘ve never thought i could give her or Noah this. I saw myself giving birth to her somewhere without any help or protection, or someone taking her away from me. I thought- sorry-“ he quickly wipes a hand over his eyes, shaking his head and taking in a deep, albeit shaky, breath. „It doesn‘t matter anymore. I found you. And Lando and Michael, you guys have given me more than i ever wished for.“

Daniel opens his mouth to try and soothe Max but right in that moment, Sophie starts fussing in his arm again, perhaps sensing Max’s distress. He starts rocking her carefully again, softly shushing her. „Shh, angel, it‘s alright. It‘s okay, daddy‘s got you, yeah?“

He tenses when he realizes what he has just said because the words just came so naturally to him, but he knows he doesn‘t have the right to-

His eyes fly to Max, only to find him staring up at Daniel with a tender smile. „It‘s okay,“ Max whispers, wrapping his arms properly around Daniel now and melting against his side. „You are her dad.“

The breath Daniel lets out sounds suspiciously much like a small sob, and he presses a long kiss to Max‘s forehead before murmuring against his skin, „You’re incredible.“

Max smiles up at him lovingly and Daniel kisses the tip of his nose a bit clumsily, making both of then giggle. It‘s his happy ending, Daniel dares to believe, with Max and Sophie in his arms and Noah, Michael and Lando asleep in their house.

I'm so in love with Dan just being so in love with the pups and nnggg Sophie judt loving to be held by her papa and getting so excited when Dan purrs or rumbles PLLSSSS THE FEELS SHE IS SUCH A LITTLE ANGEL

Maxy getting emotional about finally being safe and being able to be a good meymey to the pups, not fearing about them being taken away anymore and loving to see Dan eith his tiny little princess😭

Ofc Dan is Sophie's dad! Ofc he is for both pups, he is the only one who ever could be and xjdjcjjejxjd clumsy kissesss I'm a sucker for them! For sure they are all gonna crawl in a safe nest together, with little baby Noah too and when they wake up Lando and Michael are crawling in with them too😭

Angsty because they suddenly have to deal with a baby

but cute because 🌟baby lestappen🌟
