a few years back, i was in LA with @houseshoes promoting #worththewait on street corner records, my first solo vinyl release, which is how the beat came to be posted on IG. shoes let me know phonte wanted to rock to it and of course i was down since i def count that man as an influence. it took quite a while but, i never offered the beat to anyone else. clearly, it too was worth the wait. head over to phonte’s instagram for several anecdotes (and i assume more to come) about the genesis of his newest project “No News Is Good News” which is available everywhere that music is lol. #NNIGN (at Detroit, Michigan)
