For the brief time Lucas was in sm4sh, he was the ONLY person that could calm down charizard. due to subspace, charizard grew to respect and bond with the boy just as much as red and the other pokemon did. since red wasn't in 4, charizard was extremely unruly and destructive. that was until lucas came onto the scene, and calmed him right back down with a stern talking to. to this day, only red and lucas can completely tame the fire type.
