August 18th… A day that will be forever remembered as Nomad day. Unless you’re one of those people who don’t know what a “Nomad” is, N-M-D DAY (Nomad is the actual name of the shoe though in case anyone asks you)! Adidas decided to drop TWENTY color ways to revolutionize a new wave of casual sneakers. The brand has decided to use this sneaker as a go to sneaker, similar to what Nike did to the Roshes back in 2012, the brand is trying to make the NMD consumers #1 choice for the most versatile casual sneaker. You can literally wear this shoe with anything… seriously… it was built to build your swag, put one on and you will be the new PHRESH kid on the block!  The Nomads have done amazing this year at an accelerated rate, and with the year anniversary coming up it looks as if there is no sign of them losing the love of the sneakerheads . The R1 pack (White, Black, Red, Wool, Light Grey, White reflective, black reflective, and Blue) was built with a mesh upper and a full length boost sole. Perfect shoe for anyone new to the Adidas game or anyone who just enjoys the wave! Prime Knits are still the way to go, but these color ways are hard to ignore. Retailing at $120 you can find these shoes at your local Champs, Footlocker, Footaction and Adidas. 

Also arising today was the XR1, a beautiful new NMD with a knit material upper and, a full length boost unit like the R1′s. The XR1 is just like the R1, but Adidas decided to juice up the model by giving this shoe a “glitch” pattern way on the upper, a new lace caging system and plush leather on the heel patch on the back. Adidas came at us this morning with a triple white, olive, grey, blue, teal, and black color way retailing at $140. Highly exclusive, this shoe had a lot of hype going into the release, we will be seeing a lot more of these XR1′s in the future, find a pair at your local Adidas.

To all the Adidas fans out there, I hope you were all able to get the Nomad you were looking for this morning, it was definitely a mad house today. This R1 drop was definitely a refreshing way to end the summer, giving both men AND women a chance to get a pair of these bad boys before heading back to school. I believe that this drop was the start of Adidas trying to push this shoe to become one of its iconic sneakers, giving a chance for everyone to buy them and making NMD’s their go to shoe. The Black and Red color way, also known as the NMD “Bred” is my favorite color way, I also think it was the most popular. A very simple color way that works well with many different looks. Whether you like to rock joggers, jeans, shorts or just flat out boxers that color way will catch the eyes of a lot of people so get ready to mingle! Resell on these isn’t very favorable seen as though this was a mesh release. Resell numbers are mostly anything under $200 with the retail price of $120 for men, $95 for the women. 

Although I’m not necessarily a fan of the XR1′s, IF I HAD TO CHOOSE one that you MUST get, definitely try and get your hands on the olive silhouette, it’s a beautiful shoe that has made me believe that olive is the next popular color way going into the fall season. The resell market is going crazy for the XR1′s, and I don’t see that slowing down anytime soon, especially if the XR1′s continue to come out in new colors. Coming in at a respectful $140 retail, Stockx.com has this shoe going anywhere between $260 all the way up to $600 in the resell market!
