I imagine that Steven likes to tease Marc during Christmas by playing "All I Want For Christmas" really loud and singing the song while cleaning or doing other stuff. And every time Marc throws the laptop or whatever device, Steven plays the song on out of the window, but Steven just buys something new to play his favourite Christmas song on.
Oh, the thoughts this put into my head! I just had to wait until Ask For the Moon was complete, though, so I could put them in that universe! (As I established in my headcanons last year, while the Moon Boys may be Jewish, Layla is a Coptic Christian, so they celebrate Christmas in the El-Faouly household!)
It was a typical early December morning, with Marc having taken over fronting from Jake overnight, and Layla was putting a couple of pieces of bread in the toaster while Marc sat down and opened his laptop. He typed in his password, and the room filled with extremely loud music.
🎶I don't want a lot for Christmas. There is just one thing I need.🎶
Layla couldn't help but laugh as Marc slammed the laptop closed. She knew he hated that song with an intense passion. He glared at her.
"Did you know about that?"
Still giggling, she shook her head. "No. And are you sure it was Steven?"
"Of course I am," he grumbled. "Jake would never torture me like that!" He gave her a wry smile. "But I know how to get back at him!"
Three days later, once Steven had fronted again, Layla wasn't sure what to expect, so she stayed alert. Steven didn't even look at the laptop until that afternoon; while Marc used it to write, Steven only used it to get on social media, and then only when nothing else was going on. Layla had settled down to read, but as soon as she saw Steven sit at the desk and put his readers on, she watched.
It was the same song, but a far different version, and it was even louder than the Mariah Carrey one!
Steven jumped and slammed the laptop shut. "Oh, my God! What was that?"
Laughing, Layla answered. "That was Rammstein." She shook her head. "You two better not keep this up through Christmas!"
When it was Jake's turn to front, Layla learned that he was very aware of what his brother's were doing. "They both have it wrong," he told Layla. "The only version that counts is this one."
Layla knew both Marc and Steven must be 'present' as Jake moved to the laptop, tapped a few keys, and...
