I was trying to figure when I first got into the Naruto fandom so I was looking through old bits of fic and stuff. Looks like I started reading/watching it in early 2005, got caught up by mid-2005, and the first scraps of fics were from a few months later. JFC that was over a decade ago. I feel old now. O__o Anyway, the bits of (mostly unfinished) fic have been equal parts amusing/horrifying to read. So I thought I'd share a few over the next few weeks. Please keep in mind these are over 10 years old! ^__^;; First, a 220 word drabble in which Kakashi is picky. Kakashi's first rejected genin team had started fighting amongst themselves within 20 minutes, his second had started crying in half that time. The tenth and the thirteenth had both worked together exceptionally well, one trying to monetarily bribe him into pass them (clearly they had no concept of how much one successful s-rank mission could bring in, not to mention 40 of them) and the other deciding together that they'd like very much to go back to the academy now please. Each member of the third had been individually thwarted by the same small squirrel. Kakashi rejected that team on the grounds that stupidity might be contagious. One of the members of the eighth team had actually managed to break his leg on the way to the training field, whereas one of the members of the sixth team had done the same but while trying to run away as quickly as possible. Most of the teams he's seen are the same thing over and over again. But this new team he's just been given, there's something about them. He looks at them and he knows them far better than he'd like. They get under his skin in ways that no one has in years. And even though he doesn't particularly want to, he thinks that maybe, just maybe, he'll give this group a hint.

Squirrels are very determined and have no fear of people. The ones near where I live will walk right across the back porch ledge  while you are sitting there, to get to bird feeders.
