Charlie Puth Imagine (AU)
Rainy Days
-
Raindrops slowly fell from the sky as clouds hovered over the apartment building, thunder rumbled after a dim flash of lightning stretched across the LA sky. Your head was nuzzled in the crook of Charlie’s neck as Frank Sinatra played softly in the background through surround sound speakers that had been installed just a couple of days ago.
Charlie’s curls tickled your forehead when he leaned down to kiss your cheek, you giggled and shifted to look up at him. He smiled down at you and his white socks were warm against your bare feet.
“I love these kind of days.” Charlie whispered against your hair. You tangled your fingers in his messy curls then cupped his cheeks gently, bringing his lips down to yours. You pecked kisses his soft skin every few seconds, you could feel his cheeks tighten beneath your palms and his lips stretch into a smile after you stopped. “Me too.” You said, replying to his last comment.
The curtain was pulled to the side of the large window in your apartment, giving you a view of raindrops hitting the window pane. How you and Charlie had set up the bedroom the window was at the foot of your bed just a couple yards in front of it. The view you had of LA was breathtaking and extremely rare for ones who lived in the city. Both of you had saved every last dime to get this place: the apartment room with the good view, the furniture to be comfortable on, and the surround sound to enjoy some classics whenever you would use it. The morning was drifting away slowly, but you two hadn’t made any plans for the day, it seemed like you were going to stay home and relax on Charlie’s day off.
A loud crash of thunder rumbled and shook the building, the window pane shook. You reacted with a flinch, Charlie chuckled and wrapped his arms around you.
“It’s okay, it was just thunder, Y/n.”
“I wasn’t expecting it.” You said snuggling closer to him.
“I’m sorry, babe.” Charlie apologized and kept you in his arms. After a few minuets had passed you sat up on the bed to stretch, Charlie groaned in annoyance as you left his warm chest. He complained then you laughed as he snaked his arms around your waist after sitting up himself. He rested his head on your back, and you felt his soft eyelashes flutter against your bare shoulder. You smiled and placed your hands over his forearms that were resting on your lower stomach.
“Do you wanna go out for breakfast?” Charlie asked his words being mumbled when he spoke against the skin of your neck. The vibrations made you feel weak, especially with Charlie’s deep, groggy morning voice. “Yes.” You smiled. “Then I don’t have to cook.” Charlie laughed gently and kissed your cheek. “Should we get dressed or go in our pajamas?” He asked. “Pajamas.” You replied with pure amusement in your voice, “It’s more of an adventure that way.”
Moments after enjoying the positions you sat in, you both got up and went into the bathroom to brush your teeth. You decided to change the music from Frank Sinatra to up-beat 60’s hits.
You laughed as Charlie began to dance while keeping up with his hygiene, he took your hand and tried spinning you around, but you’ve never been the one to multitask so you had to stop moving your toothbrush in order to twirl under his finger. You both rinsed and used the same routine: brush teeth, swish mouthwash, wash face, and comb your hair.
Charlie watched you lovingly with his soft hazel eyes as you finished brushing the ends of your hair. He stepped forward and was now up against your back, hands rested lightly on your hips and his head dipped down into the crook of your neck. Charlie moved your hair to the left side then kissed your right shoulder and up your neck softly, he never broke the eye contact you two were sharing in the mirror.
“Now I don’t want to leave..” Charlie confessed, a smirk was plastered right across his lips. You turned around, your back was up against the bathroom counter as Charlie pushed himself closer to you. He brushed his nose against your nose as his lips were just centimeters away, giving you an axiousness for the feeling of his touch. “Let’s go before you get anymore bad ideas..” You winked and stood on your tip toes to kiss his cheek.
Charlie loved your height next to his taller figure. He grabbed the keys and slid on his gucci slides, you put on your black pair of berkinstocks and pulled a sweatshirt over your head. The drive there took awhile with the rain and morning traffic, but you made it safely and managed to stay dry.
“Hi, welcome to iHop! Just two this morning?” A host with beaming blue eyes asked with way too much enthusiasm. “Yes.” Charlie answered, gently lacing his fingers with yours. She lead you to a small booth in a corner with a window. You smiled at Charlie when he scooted in next to you on the same side, you loved when he didn’t sit across the table but instead, that he wanted to sit next to you. It made you feel happy that he always wanted to be so close.
An older man came over with a smile and a notepad, a black pen was tucked behind his ear and he brought it down once you began to tell him what you wanted to drink. You both ordered black coffee and waffles with bacon and sausage, if you hadn’t asked for cream on the side for your coffee, your meals would be almost identical. After the waiter had taken your menus and walked away, Charlie laid his head on your shoulder and began to make loud snoring noises. “Shh!” You scolded him, Charlie laughed as tried to hold back your own to keep people from staring.
“I like embarrassing you,” Charlie confessed. “Your reaction is my favorite part.” He chuckled and you diverted your attention to your phone, before it could even read your thumbprint, Charlie snatched it away from your hands and shoved it under his left thigh.
“Please give it back.” You begged him. “No, pay attention to me.” Charlie said dragging out the ē. He laid his head on your shoulder again, the scent of his cologne made its way to your nose and you inhaled taking it in. He held your hand under the table and rubbed small circles on your thumb as the small chatter of strangers filled the restaurant.
“Two black coffee’s, cream on the side for the lady,” The waiter smiled kindly and rested the two mugs on the table. “Waffles with bacon and sausage, and another waffle with bacon and sausage!” He said happily. “Does everything look right?”
Charlie dug his fork and knife out the napkin before even answering him, so you chimed in with a slight giggle. “Yes, thank you.”
You both ate and were satisfied with the taste and texture of the waffles, Charlie stuck his card in the little folder and left an $10 tip on the table. Once the waiter came back, you two scooted out of the booth and headed for the door.
Charlie began to run as it started to sprinkle, you screamed as he swiftly picked you off of your feet and carried you the rest of the way to car. By the time you made it, it was pouring down rain, your hair was soaked and the top of your sweatshirt was uncomfortably sticking to your shoulders. You laughed as Charlie got in and started swearing because he was soaking wet also, he looked at you while he started the car and saw that you were smiling, he chuckled and rested his head on the steering wheel.
“I love you.” Charlie said lifting his head and a smile formed on his lips.
