This research was kind of centered around artist that combined illustration with embroidery. I wanted to look into that because I wanted to look into illustration and the idea of continuous line drawing. I liked the idea of that being combined with embroidery because of the nature of string and the way in almost naturally creates drawings that seem continuously lined. I looked at a couple of artist who combined these like Nike Schroeder, Rita Zepf, Lauren DiCioccio, Lisa Kokin and Rosie James. All of their work is quite illustrative and incorporates the use of movement and portraiture. What I really like however about their work is the way it gave you a sense of story line. I think that that is a big part of my theme. I aim for my work to be storytelling and to make people curious about what the actual story is like and to interpret it in their own way. I feel like for me it is such an important thing because when I look at a photograph I usually tend to interpret it in a very different way because I usually look for deep and dark things within and that is my own view on the work. My aim is to get people to do the same with my work but to leave a lot of room for freedom with interpretation.
