One of the few comforts Sâaeil had found lately was turning to his cards. Granted, they hadnât shown him what would happen to Kaito, just how far down into a dark hole he would go. Or perhaps they did and he just didnât see it, because he didnât want to see it. Divination was a tricky thing.Â
But still, he returned to his cards each day, sometimes more than once. Much more than he used to. Perhaps one good thing from that was the fact he was becoming more practiced, more acquainted with his cards and tools. As he sat there on the bed, he could hear Kaito, Veladrys and Mikhâa chatting away happily but for some reason, this wave of dread just settled in the pit of the Seekerâs stomach and he reached for his deck of cards. His hands shook as he shuffled them. Vaguely, he noticed that his tattoos had started to glow. That didnât normally happen when he read his cards. Odd. But he felt strangely outside his body as he picked the first card up.
Upside down spire⊠Thatâs not good.
In the reverse position, Rhalgr strikes at his sonâs spiraling tower with his destructive lightning, roaring vehemently towards the darkened skies.
That feeling of dread just thickened as Sâaeil picked up the next card.
Upside down boleâŠ
In the reverse position, Alythk the Keeper stands before the World Tree with his mythril greataxe.
He didnât even get to the next card when suddenly it was as if he wasnât in the room at all anymore. Instead of the bedroom at home, he was⊠he wasnât even sure where. All he could see was dark nothingness as giant metal birds swooped through the air snapping at a white dragon. An overwhelming urge to protect the dragon came over him and yet,he couldnât move, couldnât even scream. He felt helpless and stuck as he watched them try to capture the dragon and fly off with him.
The Seeker couldnât breathe.
Just when Sâaeil thought he might suffocate, he was suddenly back at home, on his bed, clutching his cards in his hands. His hands shook as he gathered them up into a neat pile and set them back on his bedside table. He had no idea what that was⊠but he knew what it was intended to mean.Â
The Garleans were going to come for Kaito again.
