Following their 3-1 defeat to West Ham on Friday evening, the Hornets are just three points above the relegation zone with two games remaining. Pearson was Watford’s third managerial appointment of the season following the club’s decision to sack Javi Gracia in September and Quique Sanchez Flores, who had just 10 games in charge before leaving Vicarage Road in December. Watford will host Manchester City in their next Premier League fixture on Tuesday before facing Arsenal in their final game on the season at the Emirates Stadium next Sunday. Pearson was furious after Watford’s defeat to West Ham and described some members of his squad as ‘passengers’ after the game. ‘First-half we let the game pass us by,’ said Pearson. It’s annoying. Very disappointing. It means now we have got to find another one or two good results. ‘There’s no getting away from the fact this result is bitterly disappointing. I’d expect better from our players – that’s not to say everybody.
