Why ax/Jake?

ax just acts so incredibly in love with jake he describes jake as a ‘human of such superior quality’ he and jake understand each other and ax is constantly warring with himself over his want to be with his people vs his loyalty to jake
plus they just believe in each other so much. jake doesnt have to say anything ax just does it because he trusts jake utterly. ax is the one animorph jake never tries to use or manipulate simply because he knows ax will follow him wherever he goes no matter how terribly he messes up. jake is always honest with ax because of that trust.
ax takes the whole burden of nearly killing thousands of people on himself just so jake wont have to make the decision to order him to. he completely alienates himself to save jake’s mental health. after so many years of trying to fit in he throws that all away for jake.
even after all that, after that betrayal of trust, ax tries his best to be jake’s family when jake’s is taken away. he continues to believe in jake after he is given a command of his own, even after jake messes everything up and gets rachel killed and slaughters those 17000 yeerks. ax grows up, but his last word before he’s taken by the One is 'jake’. argh im so sad like????

I'm hoping they didn't just kill her off silently like that; she's lived through hell and deserves a better send off at least if they were going to kill her. I'm mad about a few others that have died recently too :/ Since they didn't show her death, maybe she snuck off somewhere, but pam said she felt her die and unfortunately that probably means she did. :C
