Niall and Bressie opened their own pub and it's about time they christened it.

Niall's blush is obvious even in the low light of the lounge. They argue about that a lot, how Niall keeps it dark and how bad for his eyes it is. Of course, the argument might go a lot better for him if he weren't so keen on those glasses.

"Can't keep one," Niall says with a forced shrug. "Too busy."

"But you won't always be." Bressie points out. Niall doesn't so much as nod, which tells him that's rather the point of the conversation. "You want to get a garden with me?"

If Niall's ears could flame with how hot they get they probably would. Bressie imagines pressing his tongue to one would burn him. Niall wriggles uncomfortably under both the weight of his stare and of his legs and not for the first time Bressie's glad he can pin Niall down with not only a look but his body. Niall has a habit of running from conversations like these. Bressie has a habit of not letting him.

"Be nice," Niall hedges as he picks at his nails. "I think. You're always gettin' on me about vegetables. Might as well grow some good ones."

"You didn't ask me about vegetables, chief." Bressie finally releases him only to sit up so he can tuck Niall under his arm. Niall does not look at him. "If you want to keep flowers, Niall—"

"Well it's—it's not just a garden, though, is it?" Niall finally admits. Bressie leans forward to rest their heads together, hoping some of his own calm will bleed through to Niall. "It's what comes with the rest of the garden. A house and the like."

"Doesn't sound half bad, does it?" Bressie teases a little, reaching to rub his thumb up and down Niall's thigh. "Get a pool to go with it."

Niall turns to him now, blinking in surprise. "Yeah?"

"We both love swimming, chief. Be a bit of a waste to have a big back garden and no pool."

"I didn't say it had to be big."

"C'mon," Bressie laughs, kissing the corner of his mouth. "Wouldn't ever get you anything less than what you wanted."

"It doesn't have to be big," Niall insists gently, turning to catch his mouth properly. When he eases back it's with both hands on his cheeks and a swell of love in his eyes. "Just has to be ours, big face."

Bressie breathes for a moment, let's the wonderful idea of ours seep into him. A house with a garden, probably a dog or three. Maybe a kid. Bressie chases those thoughts off for now with a teasing smile. "'Ours' sounds an awful lot like me takin' care of it when you get too lazy."
