NGC 869 and NGC 884
NGC 869 and NGC 884, H and Chi Persei, are a pair of star clusters located about 7,000 light years away towards the constellation Perseus. They are only 100 light years away from each other.
Open star clusters can contain hundreds of stars and are usually located along the plane of the Milky Way. These young groups of stars also tend to have irregular shapes. NGC 869 and NGC 884 are an example of a rare double cluster.
