So, we aren’t dead! Long story short, we’ve had our focus on other aspects. Different fandoms and things and well ya’ll know how it goes. Monkey brain rot is real.
Things have been worked on little by little in the background but when you love a thing you start incorporating the rest of what you love and you wind up needing a graph to even try and explain everything.
Anyway, here’s the graph of our nexus!
A multifandom entanglement.
We did, at one point want to keep this a bit of a surprise but things kept ballooning and putting this out would allow us a bit more freedom and clarity for things down the road.
Starting from the largest concepts we have the Known Universe, Outer Realms, and the Great Beyond.
The Known Universe is what it says on the tin. It’s the scope of the stars that have been explored or mapped in some way. Full of planets and species.
The Outer Realms is where things stop being reliable. Where things get strange. Things become saturated in magics, other universes start to show themselves, gateways open and close and you can wind up in interesting points.
The Great Beyond is the farthest reaches. Where no one may have traveled before. At this point it’s where the Horror-Terrors live so maybe consider turning back around and heading the way you came.
NOW!
Onto the actual meat of this mess. Starting from left to right and working from top to bottom.
Green is for things actively in universe, kind of like the base
Purple is for Alternate Universe, things that have similar foundations or faces but with deep variations
Orange is for Other Dimensions, worlds and realms with history or likeness entirely unbound to the base
Earth: The planet we all know and at least tolerate. Home to humans… and a number of other things. But let’s address that little list.
Inuyasha is canon to this nexus in that demons and characters of the show existed. Demons, as seen in the show, are native to Earth but over the years the magic of the planet dulled and withdrew as more and more humans took over. It’s hit their populations hard so now you’ll only find small pockets of demons and those are either extremely old at this point or have blood so diluted that they’re unrecognizable from their origins.
Ben 10 is pretty self explanatory. The systems and species you see in the show are present here. With a few twists thanks to being affected by some cross universe shenanigans and the Vast Reset that also impacted trolls.
Cybertronians, we cant have a collection of aliens and not include these guys. With the Transformers lore being all over the place we aren’t following one or another too heavily. The most *solid thing* is pulling from IDW but even that’s loose.
Using that as a jumping point we can jump over to Xianxia and oh boy…
Xianxia: It is both the name for the world and the star systems enclosed within the Great Barrier. Xianxia is a cordoned off section of the universe and its primary canon is Lego Monkey Kid! With a good deal added. The canon presented in the show is followed all the way up to season 5, with very minor additions, and then it blossoms from there with a wealth of our personal work.
The biggest thing to note for Xianxia is that the Great Barrier prevents a lot of common travel in or out of the system. Those who can travel usually do so with magic and assistance of the gods.
Cybertronians here are a small pocket. A very old collective from the ancient days that had fled Cybertron on a titan seed ship. At some point that seed ship landed and went into stasis on an infant Xianxia world. Time and history passed, the barrier was erected, they were woken, and now they live as a colony on one of the worlds in the system. Scattered on the moon with Chang’e and on the mainland as well.
Coming to our swath of orange, planets and systems that begin to cross into the Outer Realms have a tendency for doors opening into elsewhere.
Hazbin Hotel follows the canon of the show to a point. Here the proposal that other systems, gods, and afterlifes might exist which prompted a push and a doorway.
Cookie Run: Kingdom, during an altercation between Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla their powers tore some of the delicate universal fabric and sent the pair tumbling out into Xianxia. A gateway now exists between their worlds.
Jumping right along we hit our first world properly in the Outer Realms.
Xadia: Canon of the Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos all the way through season 7! Rich in magic and strange properties and a unique system unto itself. Contact has been made between this world and a two person party from Xianxia, the pair having been on a mission to locate a powerful magical artifact that could sustain their barrier more reasonably. Luckily there happened to be a certain star elf with a constellation they didn’t want to align.
And now onto the world of trolls, and the start of this whole thing.
Trolls: Another world that lays partially in the outer realms and it shows in its rich magic, strange creatures, and odd penitent for gateways. The canon on this world follows the three movie until the Vast Reset where it diverges sharply at the point before the escape of the Pop trolls from their tree.
AU Tangent Time
The list of Alternate Universes are getting their own section here because… we have a lot… and it’s going to be best to hit them rapid fire. [And you’ll quickly see a pattern as we go along]
Borrowers: A sweet and somewhat domestic setting where trolls take on the role of ‘Borrowers’, or the little fae folk that live in houses. Each tribe is different, preferring houses or barns, or the woods. The story here follows Trollex [A pet koi Techno] and Floyd [A house troll] and their little romance.
Demon: The rulers of the six tribes are the great sins who rule demons and mortals alike in their care. The King of Lust [Trollex] takes interest in a member of a Harmony [Floyd]. Special mortals who wield the magic to break or ward demon charms.
Mafia: A human AU! A modern setting as people go through work and college and the usual life, with a seedy underbelly following almost everything. Floyd is part of a family of hitmen for hire who work for one of the largest controlling forces in their city. It’s hard to balance his night life with any normalcy. And harder still when he takes an interest in a club DJ [Trollex].
Kaiju: I this is our first proper entry that doesn’t revolve our favorite pink and blue gays. But the base of the world is a magical girl organization. Recruited to protect the planet those in the organization are given the great power to transform into mighty god like beasts.
Isekai: This one properly is separate from most others and follows a pair of our original characters, Rex and Snare. On the verge of an ill timed fate, the god of death takes Rex’s soul and transplants it into another world. One filled with fae, fiends, magical quests and the usual trapping of a modern fantasy RPG.
Monster Marriage [M.M]: This one comes with a warning. MM, monster marriage or mirror mirror, is ‘the bad end’. It’s the worst for all involved. People have corrupt or cruel motivations. Things take dark routes. Those who are kind often don’t find their comfort and usually suffer. This is an AU we’ve had for a long while, its original story was born in Floyd becoming a vampire after his near death experience in the third movie. It has followed an arranged, and disastrous, marriage between him and a cold sociopathic version of Trollex. Then grew to encompass more and more characters. It also features quite a bit in our main storylines as it was possibly our first gateway for this nexus.
New Gods: Consider this the Xianxia equivalent of MM. Nestled in its own pocket of the universe New Gods follows the canon of the Nezha: New Gods movie with our personal touches. Including a long history of pain and regret for King, a pair of gods that have spent too long being tormented, and the fragile shards of hope and healing to be found among the brutality.
Reborn: One an upward swing now we follow the canon of Monkey king: Reborn! Canon complainant up through the movie we follow Xiaohou and his path along the Journey to the West and his, eventual, ascension to godhood. Along with a focus on the other three pillars of the world he would be joining.
Hero Is Back [H.I.B]: You guessed it, another Monkey King story. This time following the Hero is Back. And more often than not the boggling strangeness to anyone and everyone who stumbles into this universe and sees all the differences. And it’s all at poor, stressed Dasheng’s expense.
