After battling on-and-off burnout for these few months, part two of the introductions are complete! That only leaves one more group left which will take some time I imagine.

What is NEXTGEN?

NEXTGEN- or The Next Generation AU, is an AU that takes place is the near distant future of the Kirby universe and follows the new lives of the character's the series is familiar with. This AU is very headcanon-heavy, and mixes both the games and anime into one single plot. This AU is also quite ask-heavy as well, meaning people sending asks gives more story and answers to the AU, so ask away!

While you're waiting for the introductions, here are all the character concepts for the NEXT GENERATION AU (I actually like the concept art here a lot so I sometimes steal the poses for the intros fyi)!

There's the fellas I've always drawn with new redesigns as well as some new guys! I feel characters like Skirby and the Meta-knights got done dirty by past me and they have a much more important role to play.

Since there were a few people who asked about relationships and pronouns, here's a little chart for some of the characters. Specific rambling about character relationships and characters I didn't cover in the image (and yes, Pike is trans, she's bigender).

(The lineart is different because I found my old custom brush I used from 2021-2022 and wanted to try it out again for fun)

Asks are finally being answered after a lot of vacation stuff finally being over and getting break I really needed. I feel these particular asks are an important way to start off the reboot.

Based off of how timeline/dimension stuff works in the actual Kirby games, the reboot is basically the 'mainline game timeline' while the original concept is an 'alternate timeline' like you'd see in poststory games or spinoffs. This way I can keep both concepts without throwing out my original stuff. That being said, there are actual rebooted content in this series-for example- Meta knight no longer being light matter and having a species change is a real retcon that applies to both timelines.

It's rushed, messy, and unfinished but it's something.
