I thought I had won a copy of the NY times best-selling cookbook, but no I got to go to an extra swanky event in Converse Rubber Tracks studio filled with foodies, Marcus enthusiasts including his gaw-jus wife Maya and tons of delicious appetizer and small plates from his Harlem restaurant "Red Rooster" which since my beloved got to sample what Marcus' food tastes like, he finally wants to go! Win win! I also got to sample Brooklyn gin cocktails and Newburgh beer that included this utter as we say in Trini parlance tiefhead of a beer called C.A.F.E. (Coffee Acquired From Ethopia) beer. It smelt like coffee, but had a sour tangy taste and it was friggin delicious and just unlike anything I've ever had and I don't even love beer like that, but this I would drink anytime.  We also dined on shrimp and grits with fried catfish, dirty shrimp rice, mac & cheese. I was a very happy girl yesterday. Just goes to show when you put your thoughts out there to the universe, it speaks back to you and I think it's telling me to keep on blogging.
