anyway i was just thinking about how in the aeneid aeneas and his crew land at polymphemus' island and they come across an old shipmate of odysseus who says he was left behind but how much of a ridiculous slander that is on odysseus who valued his crew and ached at their deaths and just how odysseus' character is often remembered throughout so many years purely as a tragic flawed figure whose hubris is his only trait but whose redeeming qualities like that love for crew and home and family are consistently ignored in favor of being like "odysseus is actually asshole??" over and over

In general, a looooot more fics set in their canon world with canon stakes (especially if it's a magical/fantastical world) I do not particularly care for mortal AUs (but obviously each to own) For PJO in particular, I'd love fics or art that deal with Titans and Gods, I think there's so much of juicy work that can be done about generational violence, family drama, unbearable assholes and so on. Why aren't there more fics about Iapetus/Bob, Prometheus, Kronos etc...the playground is sooooo vast. Like PUT the Greek Mythology in Greek Mythology fics!
