“Survival is nothing more than recovery.”
■ ABOUT. ■
name: Patrick Fischer age: thirty-three occupation: Part owner of the Ace of Club bar gender: cis-male pronouns: he/him sexuality: utp
■ HISTORY. ■
Patrick didn’t think he’d ever leave his life in the Hamptons where he grew up. He’s always pictured himself finding a partner, raising kids and growing old in the very down he’d also grown up in. Although things don’t always work as planned. When his father died from a sudden heart attack, the small chain of bars had more debt than a millennial ivy league university student. He and his father had franchised the bar that had been passed down from his grandfather. It was a well-established bar in the Hamptons and in Central New York, though neither location was succeeding the way it should in order to keep the doors open. His father knew of this before he died, and Patrick only caught in his mid-twenties. When his father died, Patrick didn’t have a choice but to sell either one or both bar locations.
While organizing to sell both locations, he’d approached by someone wearing a black leather jacket with a gang symbol on the back. Patrick didn’t know what they could possibly have to talk about. He’d hoped he wasn’t going to get hurt for selling the bar. It wasn’t until they’d offered to pay him for half ownership of the bar in order to keep it open. Patrick took the deal and started his life in the big city. Patrick had been enjoying himself again, he and his younger brother practically ran the bar themselves with the help of a few gang members as bartenders. From Patrick’s point of view the deal couldn’t have been smoother, he also gained a few friendships since the gang members were practically the only customers the bar had.
After a few months, he felt he’d settled in quite nicely to the city life. He’d had a group of friends whom he enjoyed spending his time with, and those friends who caused him to meet his future fiance. He’d met a beautiful woman at the bar, and as any modern start to a relationship brought her home. When he heard his door close in the morning, he noticed a few of his Rolex watches were gone. He’d gone to the kitchen, found her keys on his floor and decided to follow her until she’d noticed what was missing. That day was just the beginning of their relationship, one he didn’t think would end the way it did. With him, in his apartment, heartbroken after she’d left the city a few days before their wedding.
■ WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON? ■
Being in business with a gang has put Patrick in many uncomfortable situations, ones that both he and the gang would agree he handled effortlessly. At first, Patrick was incredible at turning a blind eye to what he saw happening, though at one point, he crossed a line and started to protect his business partners because, in part, he was also protecting his bar. That kind of loyalty went a long way for the Royals, it’s for that reason he was given a jacket which he’d accepted while he was on the path of marrying the President’s sister.
■ KEEP THIS AWAY FROM YOUR ENEMIES ■
Recently someone who was dressed as if they’d lost their way from Wallstreet, walked into his bar and asked to speak in private. That meeting has his brain clouded with wonder. The lawyer who walked into his bar intentionally informed him that the woman who walked out on her family years ago had recently had a change of heart and decided to give him access to the trust fund he never knew he had. Patrick hasn’t been able to keep his mind off this since the amount that was in that bank account could get him out of the deal he has with the Royals. However, since Amelia has returned to town just four months prior, a lot has changed and though he hasn’t told her about it yet, Patrick has decided to invest himself more in the Royals. Telling Joshua that he wants to find his place in the gang, especially since his younger brother Payton will be the next second in command. It seems he wants to become more than just a bartender, and after marrying Amelia, he now knows the Krongolds will always be his family so it seems only fitting he steps up Life is going good, though he has been wondering what to do about the money, and the trust fund. To either keep it all to himself, tell his wife or brother, maybe even the Royals or just someone else he is close with...he isn’t sure, but one thing is for sure, he wants to know more about the woman who left it behind.
■ RELATIONSHIPS. ■
■ Emilie Nolan: Patrick met Emilie Nolan when she walked into his bar, which was abnormal for someone with her looks. None the less, they talked for a few hours, and it was wild how much he reminded him of his childhood crush Rachel Hathburn. Emilie has become a close friend and the only person he seems to feel for since Amelia walked out.
■ Travis Patterson: Travis has been one of Patricks’ really good friends since he moved to the city. Travis was actually one of the first people he met in the city since he was the only bartender who worked at his father’s bar before he took over.
