It's my favorite girl and best dragon!
For Nevermore, I wanted to stick close to classic dragon archetypes where she looks a lot like a snake and a bat, but I also wanted to make it clear through shape language that she is a soft, sweet, friendly dragon! Lots of rounded edges, to the point that she's basically shaped like Nessie with wings. My two main inspirations were Maleficent's dragon form from Disney's Sleeping Beauty and Elliott from Pete's Dragon.
I struggled a lot with the colors for this. Nevermore in the books is described as having green scales and red eyes, while show Nevermore obviously matches Raven's usual color scheme with the same very warm shades of purple.
I eventually landed somewhere in between---I plan on giving all the dragons a fairly cohesive color scheme with their riders and I didn't want Raven and Nevermore to be the odd ones out, but I wanted to add at least a little more contrast to make their designs readable together. Since Raven's Dragon Games fit has the interesting inclusion of that very green top, I decided to keep the green from Nevermore's book design as her accent color.
