Link's expression softens as well at the comment, although he doesn't truly smile either. Technically, his job isn't to smile, as the decorum master drilled into the knights during training. Their job was to swing a sword around or at least look imposing enough to not need to swing a sword around, so Link had gotten a little bit out of practice with smiling.
But Link would have thought a ruler of a group of people would still need to smile more, show a little bit of charisma, not that Ganon didn't have charisma, even without smiling. And it had been rather bold of Link to speak at all, even if he had grown marginally more comfortable being a guard to the king. Pointing at the king, his fisted hand sweeps away from his chin, thumb sticking out slightly. Then flat palms circle in front of his chest. << Are you not enjoying yourself? >> he asks instead, gesturing to the dance troupe they are watching.
