Our story follows the adventures of two would-be heroes, Bethany and Elissar, who form an unlikely pair as they face what’s to come.  

But who exactly are these two women?

Bethany is easily misjudged.  Young and precocious, with sparkling blue eyes and cherub cheeks, she’s hardly what most would envision when they hear the word “necromancer”.  Despite her morbid power, Bethany has always celebrated life, both her own and that of others.  Her outlook gives her a special appreciation for the dead, and the dead reciprocate.  While the sordid history of necromancers has made her life difficult, Bethany keeps her chin up in the face of adversity, and becomes all the more resilient.  Neither particularly skilled in combat or in wits, she feels that these small obstacles will do nothing to stop her from becoming the first necromancer hero.

Elissar is a loner, a cynic and a firebrand; she is perhaps the last person you’d expect to be seen at the side of a plucky runaway sorceress.  Elissar was born and raised in Alavesh, and has seen the true ugliness it has to offer.  The result is a hardened young woman, who cares little for distinguishing between right and wrong, so long as she can benefit from it.  Yet beneath her stoicism, like Bethany, Elissar has a hard time watching innocents suffer, and her brutal tactics combined with her skill as a swordsman make her an apt compliment to Bethany’s ambitions.
