Nerdzerker: Rage Quit
I fell in love with Nerdzerker 30 seconds into the first song I ever heard them play, over at the Icehouse Tavern in Phoenix. At the time I was seriously bummed that they didn’t have an album out, but I can be patient. And my patience has been rewarded with Rage Quit, Nerdzerker’s debut album.
 Jackson Bollox (bass, vox), Zero (guitar, vox), and Skelletor (drums) come together as Nerdzerker to create a sound that could easily be included in the soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim VS The World - Garage Indie, but with a hard, punk edge to it. The songs are loud, short, and fast. So fast that much of the time I can’t understand all the lyrics, but I don’t care. The sound is fun and from what I can understand of the lyrics, none of the songs support excessive, senseless violence. I like that about Nerdzerker.
 I also respect Nerdzerker’s fearlessness. They’re not afraid of offending people. If you’ve seen the video for Jurassic Fart, you know what I mean. There’s a little something in it to offend everyone. I lost it when the library book gets ripped up. They’re irreverent and clever, but never hateful. They simply challenge me to think differently. Not many bands can do that to me.
 Nerdzerker nourishes the nerd-girl-with-ADD in me. The sound is perfect for those times when I have to dance around the house as I do chores. I’m delighted to finally be able to include Rage Quit in my list of albums I live with. I’ll be listening to them A LOT.
