One word (name?) only: STEVONNIE. The fusion was unconventionally pretty for a first time/accidental fusion, not to mention that grown ups fell in love with them at first glance (you know, that scene with Lars and Sadie?) Plus, Stevonnie was supposed to represent puberty⌠except that you donât look THAT pretty when you reach it⌠weâre talking about children here. Steven is 14, and Connie is 12.
E X A C T L Y. That episode is so creepy. And it doesnât make any sense. Do first time fusions come out perfect or are they imperfect? The show isnât consistent. And Stevonnie was shown to be sexy and alluring to adults...despite Steven and Connie being kids. The whole episode has everyone fawning and blushing over how sexy Stevonnie is yet only Kevin is demonized for it (even though heâs the only person who backed off after finding out they were kids). Stevonnie was supposed to be a representation of puberty and growing up fast but....puberty is awkward. Stevonnie is perfect and loved by everyone which doesnât work with what the stated meaning is. No one is that amazing in puberty. It was just a mess and proof of why Stevonnie was a bad idea.
Okay, so I watched that PPG special, and I came to the conclusion that someone at Cartoon Network must have some serious grudge against black women. Like, wow!
i dont doubt that tbh

Okay, I might be the only one who thinks this: I still find Eclipsa pretty shady. She was cute? Sure, but looks may fool you. She reminds me of Bill Cipher somehow, both acted nice to make contracts/deals...
But Bill Cipher was an instane eldritch abomination, so even though he was affable, you just couldnât trust him. Eclipsa seems to be way more manipulative, emotionally speaking. Itâs possible that she didnât even lose her mom when she was about Moonâs age and simply said that to create an emotional bond.Â
But⌠itâs true that weâve seen very little of The Queen of Darkness, so maybe she wonât be a villain per se, but rather a very shady anti-hero. Who knows.
I just want to say that your Steven Universe rant was on point! There are a few things more you should've mentioned IMO, but it'd make the video bigger... SU is just THAT problematic enough to have more than the things you mentioned. Not to mention your animation observations and tips could be of good use someday! Still, a great murdering of a overrated and annoyingly popular series, 10/10.
thx
