Nerdwallet sent out a newsletter, like 27 Ways to Make More Money and the intro paragraph was full of "passive income" shit.
And first of all, the advice was incredibly obvious and also bad. (Get a side gig! Freelance! Open an Etsy shop! Use AI! Self-publish an ebook!)
But also... none of that is passive.
(To break it down: people already know about side gigs. It's why we have the term "side gig" and "side gig economy." Freelance is also a side gig in this context so that is the same advice twice. Oh and so is "open an Etsy shop and self publish a book" but those two are especially bad because those two things are top results for passive income scammy shit advice on youtube where grifters sell you the grift of selling the grift of passive income through Etsy shops and publishing nonsense ebooks on Amazon.)
And I didn't even list all their advice. tsk.
I assume some intern (or they used Fiverr or some other awful place) was told to make a listicle type newsletter and they just filled it with random shit like that plus extra money advice from the early 2000s (full out surveys!)
I hate most commercials on TV right now, but I'm gonna be frank, that NerdWallet ad with broke "future you" is legit quite hilarious
