Technique can definitely be ironed out.
Last day of Week 5 on the LSUS weightlifting program. Liking the strength aspect of it. Don't like that there isn't a lot of work on the full lifts.
I’m on a Norse Mythology kick for some reason...
Totally by accident, mostly.
I decided that my bookworm cred was severely dwindling in past months, so I set about fixing this by catching up on one of my fave authors, Rick Riordan. Thus I got from the library system all three “Magnus Chase” novels (and the first 2 “Trials of Apollo,” but I know Greek myths inside out and upside down.)
Being a massive geek for the majority of my life, I was familiar with some of the names of the Norse gods, like how our English weekday names are based on Odin and Thor and so on.
Rick Riordan’s take on this particular Pantheon was, as always, refreshingly hilarious but strangely educational in I think a good way.
Then comes me looking on Steam for cheap/free games to play. Enter “Heroine’s Quest: the Herald of Ragnarok.” Been around for 5 years and I had no idea how massively popular and addicting it is. And how PACKED it is with Norse myths and stories.
So then I go back and watch “Thor” and “Dark World” after YEARS of last having seen them, to (partially) see how “accurate” the writers were with the backgrounds of the Asgardians and so on, and partially to remember how badass Christopher Eccleston was as a dark elf.
What’s next? Hopefully the copy of “Thor: Ragnarok” I reserved at the library comes in soon. Maybe I’ll get on a Celtic myth kick at some point.
Peace out.

How big a nerd am I?
Let me put it this way.  FINALLY had time to sit down last night and re-watch “Magician’s Apprentice/Witch’s Familiar” back to back and on demand (so I could pause, rewind, and put on captions-THANK you Time Warner Cable)
And what was I doing? Â Taking notes. Â LOTS of notes. Â In my newly designated Doctor Who spiral notebook. Â
Will probably post a few of my observations/comments/big question mark type questions that I know Steven Moffat put in to torture us on purpose down the road.
But yeah, I’m THAT kind of nerd.  Rock on.
Forward into the past
