Playing Pokémon while Zelda is paused. How nerdy can you get?
For my first assignment for African-American Women Writers, the professor asked us to submit two comments and/or discussion questions on the readings by Monday.Â
Not only have I completed the assignment, but I've written nearly two-and-a-half pages, which means I definitely exceeded the number of comments and/or questions. She didn't really specify if it's one or the other, so I commented and questioned.Â
The readings were just so good. Both by Alice Walker, I read "Everyday Use," which I read previously in high school, but I brought a whole new lit theory perspective to it, and her essay, "In Search of Our Mothers' Gardens: The Creativity of Black Women in the South," which really reminded me of why I am a literature major, and nearly made me want to scrap all my post-grad plans and go for my ph.D.Â
However, my plans remain in tact. But it really reminded me of the importance of staying connected to my passions and interests, even if I can't pursue them fully right now.
