saw a post on tiktok about how sam pre-cage was “pre-trauma sam” and it pissed me off so . ok get this
there is no pre trauma sam ! sorry<3
sam, two months into his life, had his mother die over his crib. this made his father, who presumably wasn’t even that good to begin with, so much worse!! terribly worse!!
sam had hardly been raised, he ran from the small life he had. sure, he hadn’t had pre-hell trauma! but!! why are we, as a group, ignoring his childhood? i do not have the time to dive into that right now but!! damn. he was never settled down, never had a case of normalcy. he got bullied in every school he went to (reference: ANY episode where he’s a kid) and probably at home since john winchester is LIKE THAT!
not to mention, he’s been in the family business since what? before he was a pre teen? why does he have war veteran type trauma at like 13? did we skim past when he wrote an essay over killing a werewolf for middle school or what? not allowed to talk of the family business, not allowed to get too close to anyone!
his girlfriend died in the same fashion his mother did IN THE PILOT. he was half disowned by his family before the show even started might i add!
he blames himself so so so much and some of y’all think it’s pre trauma ?!! really ????????? blows my mind.
there is no “pre trauma” he was born to despair and agony. argue at the wall because i won’t listen.
Tetsuo finds some more ice cream in the freezer. Hopefully, this ice cream is normal it won’t turn him into a plantsim or make him skinny.
Shane uses his reward points to hire a maid. Free housekeeping. The price is right. After completing the nerd brain aspiration, the least Shane should do is treat himself to a clean house.
Yumiko also enjoys ice cream, knowing it won’t cause any weird side effects. I’m happy anytime she decides to use the refrigerator to get food, instead of rummaging the trash for semi-edible salad.
So, I work in retail. Just a generic chain store that sells a little bit of everything - think along the lines of a mini-Walmart, but Canadian. Now I work in the fashion dept, and we have this green jacket that looks SO much like Yukine's jacket from Noragami. And while I'm working with some stuff that just came in, I overhear a girl mention exactly that about this jacket. So what does my nerd-brain do? I look up at her and her mom(?) and say; "It would totally work!", and queue short discussion about the series, and even reccommended a few places online to read the manga. (Poor girl isn't caught up. Her heart is going to break.)
I think I made a friend. At work. About Noragami. My life is complete.
my theory re: premiere date for outlander season 3
The current season of Black Sails will finish on April 2. American Gods has been reported to be premiering in April 2017. So let’s say American Gods starts on April 9, the week after Black Sails finishes, its 10-episode season would conclude on June 11 (allowing an extra week for the Memorial Day weekend). Last year, there was a week break between the end of Black Sails and the start of Outlander, so it could easily conclude on June 18.
Therefore, mid-June would be the earliest that Outlander would feasibly premiere.
Last year, principal photography wrapped 6 weeks before the premiere. So it’s possible they’re aiming to wrap shooting by the start of May.
Anyway, this is what I was telling my massage therapist yesterday when she was asking about it.

Happy birthday to Florian’s twins! Alexandrea and Landen are the children of Florian Cano Lycino, the 27th child from my 100 baby challenge.
Alexandrea, in the starry top, aspires to pull off increasingly ludicrous and hilarious pranks. She knows how to be creative with things like this, although she can be a little short-tempered which is only natural for teenagers.
Landen, in the brown jacket, wants to be the smartest person around. He was a genius as a child, and he doesn’t want to let it stop there. Of course, when he’s putting so much pressure on himself, it’s bound to get him down sometimes but he’s still determined to achieve his dreams.
Cora carries Amaya home from the neighbors house in the rain.
Tetsuo supposes meeting new people is nice, but he rather play chess with his dad. Btw, Shane is a level nine in logic. One more level and he completes the nerd brain aspiration.
Doing a nerdy deep dive into relationship research about women being less satisfied in marriage and men more satisfied versus single counterparts.
This one article talks about the money discrepancy and men can still be insecure if their partner makes more. The status quo and assumption is usually that the man makes more. This article is talking about men who make nothing (eg in graduate school) or who work part time. But they don't really talk about couples where they both make decent money but the woman makes slightly more (like making 100K vs 80K) I want to see how much the disparity matters. Like, couples do fine with X difference but once it's Y difference, divorce rates increase.
When I think about asking a man, "do you care about your partners profession?" The assumption, even in my own head, is "do you care if they have a lower level job than you?" I'm not thinking "do you care if they have a higher level job than you?" I'm SOOO curious to know what the answers would be if you asked those in a survey separately. Also which one you ask first.
If you ask "do you care about your partners profession?" I bet men would say no, and women would say yes. Or "does it matter in choosing a partner, how much money they make?"
Then, "do you care if you partner has a higher earning job than you?" Men would say yes, women more likely to say no than Q1 but still care. I'd bet women care about $ not the status compared to them.
YOu're swiping apps, what is their status when you meet, people list their profession and you can make a reasonable guess based on that how much they make. But it might change later in life, and that might be upsetting to some men and it wasn't an issue early on so they never discussed it and later it causes tension.
And I bet for higher earning women, they care more about their partners career to make sure he is on their level, generally, especially for single women later in life (30+). Men probably continue to not care if women make less than them and may even care more as they get older if they make more. It'd also be interesting to compare theoretical "would you care" versus actual couples in those situations and ask "how much of a source of conflict/tension?" "How do you make financial and lifestyle decisions?" (Savings, vacation, discretionary spending)
