honestly ian’s gonna thrive being a husband like. him and mickey have previously lived a very day-to-day existence out of necessity, but ian has always wanted a future with him. he dreamed of it when manic, a baby and a bright home, and he brought it up in prison - marriage, kids, retirement - and again before the wedding – you want kids? also we know he loves goals and that he loves providing (the commissary account, the kash and grab job, the suitcase scam, the porn, giving mickey his money at the border), so i just think that having his and mickey’s marriage and future as a place for all that determined energy to go is gonna be so good for him
