This is my contribution to Stucky big bang this year and I’m telling you I’ve been cursed. Both Bangs I’ve participated in have been haunted by bad stuff happening IRL and I’m blessed by super patient writers.

I absolutely LOVED this fic, Never Broken by Neonbat. It hits close to home since not only have I lived with someone suffering from PTSD and severe depression, I work with people with different handicaps and mental disabilities. War vet Bucky, and Steve in a wheelchair both ticked boxes that fit in my personal life. I can seriously recommend you go read and am grateful for getting to work with Neonbat. <3

PTSD. Summary: Bitter, injured veteran Bucky Barnes enrolls himself into a care facility instead of wanting to be a burden on his sisters. He wants to be left alone and retreats into his room with the barest of human interaction. He never accounts on Steve Rogers to make the decision for him that they are friends and gets dragged along in Steve’s gravity. He never expects to care, never expects to look at a guy that should rightly be bitter and angry about his lot in life and see optimism and strength. More than that, he never expects to try after giving up.
