Saskia was on watch; her eyes fully adjusted to the dark and were looking out for any sign of movement. She hadn't heard an infected in a while, which she was somewhat grateful for. She couldn't stand their screaming and begging inside her head.
But that was the downside to being a hybrid, she was part of the hive mind of the infected since birth. Although, that was usually what the humans wanted; to know how the infected worked and how long it took for them to starve to death. It wasn't as simple; the infection forced its host to stay alive as long as possible, you could shoot them, remove limbs and starve them for weeks and they'd get back up again.
Gotta aim for the head and burn the remains; that's the only way to kill both infected and hybrid. Bit hard to get up again when you've been decapitated and a pile of ash.
Sitting up from her perch on the hotel balcony, she saw a group of what seemed to be humans but something seemed.... off. They smelled different than anyone else she'd come into contact before; cocking her head to one side, she stood up and cracked her limbs before sending out a message to the others; "we have company, take the kids into the basement and wait for my call".
The she made her way down to ground level, curious to see what she was dealing with. Not wanting to show who or what she was to the group, she placed a hood over her head before stepping out to them, being careful not to make too much noise. "Come here, there's infected just down the street," she whisper-shouted towards them.
