linocut patches of h.r. giger's necronom iv (1976) 👾🎨⚙️ this painting, featured in giger’s necronomicon (1977), inspired the design for the xenomorph in alien and eventually led ridley scott to recruit giger as alien’s production designer. i have the taschen publication of giger’s work, but i would love to see a copy of the original necronomicon someday.
i decided to do an inverse carving on this linocut for a more detailed cut, but getting a consistent roll on the ink has really been a learning process, LOL. i'll probably do a re-print of these when i have the time so i can try to get some that have less spotty ink coverage.
