Hi!! I just wanted to say this, I am an extremely picky fanfic reader. I don't know why but I just am. I don't really stick to many fanfics, give up reading in the middle I mean they're good but I just get bored?? I dunno. But with yours I keep reading and reading and ugh the feels!!! So, I'm guessing this means you have a good list of fanfics? Could you suggest any good ones? Or just link some of your favourites of your own writing? I prefer the sad ones cause I'm heartless. Bye!
I’ll share my personal writing first, and then send you a few of my favorite fics by other authors. c:
The Footsteps: Based off of the novel “The Road” by Cormac McCarthy. The world has ended, and Bro is alone with his little brother, still a child, struggling to keep them both alive. The sun is hardly ever out, every animal and plant is dead, the earth is growing colder every day, and food is scarce. Bro isn’t sure where he’s really going, but as long as he has his world, Dave, with him, then he’s sure they’ll be all right.
Beige: (Dave x Dad) You have the phone number of John’s dad. You have never used it. It’s storming out and your eye is bruising up. You doubt he’ll answer. Not after what happened between you two last time. You press the call button and uncharacteristically get your hopes up.
Prodigy: (Eventualy Dirk x Alpha Dave) Dave is only seventeen when his parents die and he’s left with a very unique four-year-old little brother to raise on his own. He’s burning through savings, and any of his future dreams need to be put on hold so he can focus on making sure his only family isn’t taken away.
Hide: (Post-game. Brotherly Dave and Bro.) Dave’s been incredibly quiet. Usually you can’t get him to shut up, and you would have enjoyed the silence if you weren’t so worried. One day he was fine, and the next he looked terrified as he asked you if you remembered “the game.” You said no, and you feel like you’ve lost your family since then.
This page holds all of my main works if you want others though!
Anyway, here’s some of my favorites by other authors:
Endangered by Mortior: (if I could make love to a fic, this would be it) Androids have all but won the war against humanity, and the remnants of the once-great human civilization are reduced to miles of wastelands and hidden communities struggling to survive. Dirk and his friends are sent out to scavenge for supplies, while AR is sent to hunt down and exterminate the dwindling human population. Their fated meeting is the beginning of a union between species that was once thought impossible.
The Heir and his Knight by wittyy_name: Dave is a knight in love with the prince. In plain sight they are best friends, but behind closed doors they are much more. But knights are meant for princesses, and John is the heir of the kingdom- and they can not keep another.
A Fatal Error has Occurred by Mortior: (Unfinished, but still amazing) Hal’s relationship with Dirk is deteriorating for reasons unknown, until he discovers a secret that destroys it entirely. It will take a disaster to show him that even the widest rifts can mend, and that there might have been something more to Dirk’s misguided intentions. The story of an android and his creator, as they approach the events of Sburb.
The Unfortunate Side-Effects of Being Human by NecroFaix: One of the last humans left on earth after an alien invader took over and flooded the planet, Dirk Strider finds himself alone. His only companions are the three friends he chats with online and whatever he can make by hand on his island of an apartment building. But with his mind he can create almost anything and soon loneliness will be the least of his worries as he concentrates on facing what he hates about himself, more human interaction than he’s used to, and fighting for his life. And for Hal, there’s a lot he has yet to learn about being human and he might not like all the lessons in store for him.
Reciprocity by Mortior (seeing a theme here?): Dirk decides to do something special for his Hollywood superstar Bro’s birthday, but the simple act of giving a gift turns out to be far more complicated than he thought.
In general, just read the Twenty Red Lights series by Mortior, Reciprocity is a part of that. Or anything by Mortior on Ao3, you can trust his shit.
