So, I wanted to make sure my voter registration was still good and, just out of curiosity, I also searched for who was gonna be on the ballot in Primaries, and there are two Democrates running against Sasse right now, Chris Janicek and Angie Phillips. I hadn't heard anything about anyone. I would bet money that Phillips won't get any coverage. She's a Dem and a woman running in Nebraska, but her ideas. Anti-ICE, pro-choice, lgbt ally, pro single payer healthcare.
well, it really depends. kara eastman did surprisingly well last year. like yeah, it'll be difficult to get early attention on angie, but i've already seen some ads. and sasse is such a strong candidate for the republicans, there's no way anyone else will run for them, and if they did, they probably wouldn't get much of the vote. it's really down to the democrats to vote on the second candidate, and with nebraska being as conservative as it is, most democrat voters seem to lean pretty far to the left (or at least, further left than the other candidate looks). it's still a long shot, but eastman did so well last time that i'm really hoping this encourages people to get out and vote.
(also, if you aren't already registered to vote, do it now! the primaries are in may, but it's better to take care of it now!)
