things that people do on artfight that i don't understand
change thumbnails of previous year's attacks so they're an image that just says something like "old ugly fuckass art i hate". What if you did that attack for me i don't hate it i don't think it's ugly or fuckass and now i have to have that on my profile and see it every time i want to go look at art people have given me.
group a bunch of characters together under one profile, with an icon that doesn't preview any of the characters. a good thumbnail is 100% the reason im going to click on your character while browsing, I'm never going to be interested in "More OCs :)"
Adding themed frames to their character profiles that are so big and gaudy that it's almost impossible to SEE the character. Again, your character's icon is the thing that's going to make me click, if I can't see your character, I can't know if I'm interested in drawing them? It's a visual based website??? The icons aren't that big you should be using what little real estate you have to show off your character's best side!
use white text. I know people use darkmode but just use the default text some of us use lightmode and cannot read your character profile if you put everything in white. If you use the default text it auto-adjusts to black or white depending on what mode the viewer is using STOP MAKING ME HAVE TO COPY AND PASTE THINGS TO READ YOUR PERMISSIONS
people who don't say THANK YOU OH MY GOD. I've heard every fucking excuse, and none of them make sense literally just copy and paste a "thank you!" and hit comment that's it! it let's me know you saw it and you like it! It gives me, the person who spent time making you something, the dopamine and validation that is the reward for the thing I did! When you don't say thank you, I don't feel appreciated, and i definitely wont be attacking you again!
people whose profile is 100% adoptables with no details in the profile section. this honestly is such a bummer, i don't judge people on their style or level of skill, i know not everyone is a professional artist, but if you can't even bother to TELL me something about the character, it just gives me the impression you don't actually care that much about them. At least put some pronouns and, like, their favorite food. At least then I know you've thought about them and might be interested in receiving art for reasons beyond padding out their toyhouse portfolio for resale.
