"Okay, class dismissed", the professor announced and I can see my block mates rumbling and just trying to get out of the class as fast as they can. Others were smiling and giggling with their friends. I heaved a deep sigh as I am too frustrated with the scores I got for my exams. This exam is important for the overall grade so it bothers me. 

I walked out of the room with slouched shoulders and passed through the corridors with a head down low. The scores still not getting out of my head. I absent-mindedly walked around the university and I just want to go home as soon as possible. I was taken aback when someone suddenly tapped my shoulders and when I looked up, there I saw Injunie smiling at me. I just gave him a small smile in response. 

"Are you okay? What's wrong?" He asked but I just shrugged it off not having the energy to talk. We went on walking our way going to my dorm. He got used to me not talking especially when I am not feeling well.

We went on still walking side by side, not talking and I can feel he is getting uncomfortable with the atmosphere we have. I was stunned how he swiftly put on one of his AirPods in my one ear. I looked at him, astounded by his actions but he only smiled at me reassuringly and slowly held my hand.

As a note started playing, my heart started to melt like I am about to cry. He played That's Okay by D.O. I was trying to stop myself from bawling out because I don't want to let him see me in this vulnerable state plus I feel like this is just a very light problem to cry on. I held his hand tighter just to make me feel strong.

Sometimes I cry

And I go through the pain

As those lyrics came on, my tears suddenly went falling as my head was down low and I can't face anyone right now. I am trying hard not to sniff because it'll let him know I was already crying. We suddenly stopped walking which made me lift my head to see him, finding answers to why we stopped. But then I realized, we were already here in front of my dorm. 

He just sighed looking at my eyes showing signs of distress and the tears now won't stop falling on my cheeks. He pulled me into a hug, his arms covering me tighter and I just can’t help but sob in his chest. A heavier volume of tears coming out and I just can't understand why I am crying over a red mark on a piece of paper. He continued to give me warmth in his embrace, slowly rubbing my back to give me comfort.

The troubles you couldn't talk about

The spots with deep scars

The time passing at the same pace

Like always, I'll wash them away

I cried harder as the song ended. "I shouldn't be crying but why do I feel this way? Those scores wouldn't dictate what I have for the future right? But why am I crying so hard over those numbers?" I mumbled those words, at last, getting those heavy emotions enveloping me from a while ago. 

He kept on rubbing my back and muttered these words, "It's okay, that's fine. Your feelings are valid and you are allowed to feel that. I can't tell you to be upset about it but I know you can carry on. I know you can still be better and can do the best because you are you."

“Y/N HURRY THE FUCK UP WE’RE GONNA BE LATE” Haechan shouted from the living room of your lonely apartement 

“I don’t care Haechan” You entered the living room 

“What a mess” He judged you 

“Lee Jeno?” You asked 

“He’s in class already” 

“That early?” 

“Early for you now you can see your boyfriend if you speed your shit up Y/N”

“He’s not my boyfriend” You glared at him 

“Whatever you say” He rolled his eyes 

“Jeno Hi” You waved and sat in your seat 

“Goodmorning! What’s your reason for being late this time?” He teased 

You flicked his forehead 

“Shut up idiot” 

“Did Yangyang not come today?” You asked looking around 

“No he’s with Hendery because he’s sick” He told you dryly 

“Geez how come you’re drier than Mark’s jokes” You clicked your tongue 

“You love Mark’s jokes Y/N” He gave you a fake smile 

“Listen he’s funny-”

“professor is here” Jeno faced forward 

“Is Lee Jeno mad right now” You poked his side teasingly 

“Y/N” He said sternly 

You stuck out your tongue continuing to poke him 

“Will you stop it I’m trying to focus here” He held your hand and looked at you

“O-oka-ay you can l-let go-o now” You stuttered 

Why were you nervous about skinship all of a sudden? 

He smirked 

“This bitch-” You glared at him 

Once class ended you quickly got your bag wanting to leave 

“Where are you going?” Jeno held your wrist 

“I’m going to see Joy It’s her birthday and I brought her a cupcake with a candle to surprise her” You laughed slightly  

“Oh okay” He looked the other way

“However I’m not done with you yet I want to know why you’re suddenly pulling an attitude on me Lee Jeno. Now bye” You smiled at him 

“You are what everyone calls Whipped Culture Lee Jeno” Renjun came from behind him 

“Who’s whipped culture? tsk” He rolled his eyes 

“Poor boy is in Denial” Chenle sighed from beside Renjun 

You lit up the candle that says the number 5 on it and went inside the dance room 

“Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Joy, Happy birthday to you!” You motioned for her to blow out the candle 

“A 5? Really Y/N?” She laughed

“I can’t fit two numbers on a cupcake and this was the only one available which seemed fitting for you” You teased her 

Suddenly the door opened to someone Joy would probably want to be alone with 

“Oh I remember Jeno wanted to talk to me” You got up but not before smearing cream on her cheek 

“Yeah yeah go see your boyfriend” 

“HE’S NOT MY BOYFRIEND” Yelling while going out the door 

“I swear to god one more time today and I’ll- Jeno?” You looked over to see Jeno eating in the music room 

“Will you come in or continue staring?” He suddenly spoke 

“I wasn’t staring” 

“Yeah sure” He sipped his drink 

“Why are you here alone?” You asked sitting beside him 

He shrugged

“What about the rest?” 

“You weren’t there and I didn’t feel like having my ears bleed today” He said 

Your cheeks flushed with color 

“Do you want this?I know it’s your favorite” He passed you a chocolate bar

“Thank you Jen” You ruffled his hair 

You probably didn’t know that his heart was a mess right now. You didn’t know that a simple action of yours gets him blushing and suffering but in his mind it’s best if you don’t know.

“Will you tell me what’s with your attitude today?” You asked 

“There’s nothing wrong with me” He looked at you smiling fakely 

For sure he wasn’t gonna say that he got upset over you asking about Yangyang and complimenting Mark and that he misses you and that he was-

“Jeno?” You waved your hand in front of his face 

“Oh look the bell rang” He quickly cleaned up and left 

“What is wrong with him?” You asked yourself munching on the chocolate bar 

“Jeno you wanna come over later on?” You asked him as you guys were walking to the bus stop 

“I can’t today”

“Why?” 

“Uh-” The bus came as he tried coming up with an excuse 

“Whatever nevermind” You ended the conversation and entered the bus 

After you arrived at your spot you waved goodbye at Jeno and left 

You had to walk for a bit since your home is further away from the bus stop 

You heard footsteps behind you and started walking faster grabbing the pepper spray in your bag 

“Yes Jeno” You said enthusiastically  once he answered 

“Eh?”

“Didn’t you say you were gonna come over?” You started a converSation hoping he would get the message 

“Hey are you alright?” 

“Ohh okay I see should i wait for you then?” You heard the footsteps get closer 

“I’ll be there in a second Stay on the call” He told you

“Y/N” You heard a familiar voice 

The guy following you left 

“Oh my god are you okay?” He hugged you immediately 

“Jeno I-I do-on-”

“It’s okay I’m here now” He pulled you closer 

After arriving at your house you changed and sat in the living room quietly 

“Here have this” He gave you a cup of hot chocolate 

“Thank you” You gave him a smile 

“Do you want me to stay the night?” 

You just nodded 

“Okay then I’ll go wash up quickly. Where did you put my hoodies?” He asked 

“If I tell you you’ll take them back so wait i’ll go get you one” You told him 

“Jeno” you looked at him 

“Yes?”

“I’m sh-haking” You told him with teary eyes

He widened his eyes and pulled you close 

“It’s gonna be okay love, You’re so strong and you did so well today” He softly patted your head to calm you down 

“Thank you. I’m sorry for being a bother” You cried in his arms 

“You’re not and you will never be a bother Y/N. I’m always gonna be here for you no matter the circumstance” He held your face in his hands 

“Thank you” You pulled away wiping your tears 

“I fucking hate ruining the mood every time ugh” You sighed frustrated 

“You did not ruin anything Y/N. It’s normal for you to feel like that. Stop blaming yourself please” He told you 

“But-”

“I know what you’re about to say Y/N. No. Your anxiety isn’t a problem at all and you are not annoying or dramatic for letting your feelings out. It’s okay and you’re valid. I’m always here for you love” He smiled at you 

“You’re gonna make me cry again” You hit his chest playfully 

“No,no tears only smiling” He warned you 

“Cuddles?” He asked with a smile 

You nodded 

Weeks later you found yourself staring at your best friend, blushing and being a nervous mess around him. You don’t know when it started but you’re suddenly seeing Jeno in a different light as if he was never your close friend.

“Why is he so handsome?” You muttered to yourself or at least you thought so while staring at Jeno getting a drink from the vending machine across the music room  

“Who Jeno?” Jaemin and Jisung sat beside you 

You choked on your noodles 

“My god” Jisung pat your back giving you water 

“What’s wrong with her?” Jeno suddenly came to your side 

“Don’t worry your girlfriend is fine she just choked while staring at you” Haechan sat beside Jaemin 

“Lee Donghyuck you little bitch” you glared at him 

“What?” He gave you a look 

“You’re done for” 

“Chenle just texted saying to meet at the rooftop so bye” Jisung found a way out 

“Yeah I have to go water the marshmallows” Jaemin grabbed his bag 

“I’m coming with you” Renjun told him 

“Would you look at that Mark is calling me” Haechan got up 

“I’ll come with you” You got up but Jeno grabbed your wrist 

“I said he’s calling me” Haechan left but not before wiggling his eyebrows 

You both looked around the music room not knowing what to say 

For some reason the ceiling looked appealing to you

“So uh-” He started 

You quickly diverted your attention to him 

“ I’m sorry about what Hyuck said. i know it probably made you uncom-” 

“No it didn’t”

“Oh” You went back to staring at the ceiling 

“I like you Y/N” He suddenly spoke 

“What?” You blushed 

“I like you” He smiled 

“I like you too” You said continuing the staring contest with the ceiling

“hey will you look at me?” Jeno spoke 

“No” 

“Y/N” He said sternly 

“Still a no? Okay” He got up and went over to you grabbing your face 

“Wh-hat do you want?” 

“I want you to look at me” He smiled going back to looking into your eyes

“O-okay wh-hat n-now”

“Nothing i’m just admiring my girlfriend” 

“Who said-” You couldn’t continue as he pressed his lips onto yours sending butterflies all over your stomach 

“I think we both want that” He smiled after pulling away 

“Yeah we do” You smiled looking at him again before kissing him once more 

“You’re so precious” He pulled you by your waist for a warm embrace kissing the top of your head 

You smiled in happiness as he hugged you, still admiring your beautiful self by the way
