NCT 127 first win!!
I know I’m a little late to the party for a lot of things but I just wanted to say a word of congratulations to the boys! 🎉
It has been quite a rough ride, especially when they could have literally snagged their very first win with 7th Sense, which topped music charts on music shows before their debut stage. Sure, they might have lost that opportunity, but one cannot deny that it was a pretty amazing feat for a rookie group. There have been groups who snag their first win a short time after debut, but only NCT so far (please correct me if I’m wrong) has made it to that extent.
Unlike their other songs such as Firetruck and Limitless, Cherry Bomb was not a song that was an immediate chart-topper and even threatened to fall out of the Melon music charts, despite a 2.4 million view count on Youtube within 24 hours, and the members did share their genuine fears on this, in which Doyoung mentioned that he constantly streams it, even when his phone is on silent mode.
Furthermore, the boys also took the risk of refusing to change the lyrics in order to meet KBS standards, rendering them not being able to perform their true comeback song and settling with “0 Mile”. Nevertheless, I am proud of the boys for standing by their music, and did not change the lyrics simply because it would lose the true intensity and meaning of the song.
However, due to the support of NCTzens, they have finally won their very first win on M! Countdown and I could not have been prouder of the boys. :) Once again, the road has not been easy but thank you NCT 127 for gifting fans with lit songs and hopefully, you guys will continue to walk the path of flowers and success that you guys deserve. :) Apparently, Johnny teared up and Taeyong was in tears during the encore, and it was indeed a touching moment when they had a group hug during the encore. :’)
Let’s keep supporting the boys and may they continue to snag more awards in the near future!
