Since 2015, I have had the privilege of volunteering with an organisation called the Amazon Rainforest Conservancy 🦥 These kinds of teams are needed around the world. Nature is a huge source of inspiration and inner peace, not to mention how interconnected we are to mother nature. . I feel the devastation from the fires, poaching, agriculture, logging and mining deeply, as I know so many others do, which is why I was compelled into action. It can feel so overwhelming at times when we look at the scope of what is happening around us. How do we recover from something so astonishingly momentous? So much damage, so much pain, so much loss. Where do we start? The big picture always feels a little impossible. Which is why we need to connect for the sake of growth. We may not be able to replace an entire forest in a day, but we tend to underestimate the power of planting one small seed. We live in a world of instant messages and express shipping and sometimes this mentality crosses into other aspects of our lives without us realising it. So when we look at the scope of what’s in front of us and think we will never recover—it’s too much for us. But we will recover. And everything in nature including us does naturally. It starts by planting one seed. Taking one small step. Making one tiny change. Trust that you have everything you need within and around you, to get through whatever unfolds. Remember too, that sustainable change often comes from small, incremental steps and that devastation can foster action that changes and supports a beautiful future.
