Tom Bewick, an international program specialist with Nature4Climate, spoke with the Nature+ Newsroom on November 14 at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. He talked about working with local communities in the Amazon rainforest to use technology such as satellites, smartphone apps, and drones to reduce deforestation. Bewick said this tech has enabled those communities to reduce deforestation by more than 50%.
